Robbie Green Takes Checkers at Afton

Afton, NY, April 26............Robbie Green won the 30 lap Modified feature at the newly reconfigured Afton Raceway. Green, a regular over the past few seasons took the lead from Steve Cummings early in the race and held off a challenge from Mike Clapperton to win the event. Paul Jensen came from the back of the pack to place third in his first trip to Afton. Defending Fulton and Utica-Rome track champion Mitch Gibbs finished fourth with Earl Walrath fifth. Dan Yankowski won and exciting Sportsmen feature over Tony Ross, Jim Gabriel Jr. , Tim Clemons and Billy Walters. Ron Flannery won the Street Stock feature.
