Jackson, Aubin, Rozon, May and Lapolice winners at Cornwall Motor Speedway!




Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, July 8, 2018 – Martin Bélanger – Another busy and hot night at Cornwall Motor Speedway this Sunday evening as the Quebec Mod-Lite and Mini-Modified were in town for their annual visit along with a complete race program. Propane Levac was the sponsor of the evening.

A great battle for the lead started the 30-lap Polar Sound DJ Services Modified feature as Kyle Dingwall and Louie Jackson went at it as they race side by side for the first 10 laps when they entered lap traffic, Jackson pulled away from Dingwall with Corey Wheeler sitting in third. A lap 16 restart saw Louie Jackson in the lead with Chris Raabe joining the top 3. Raabe found something on the top side and passed Dingwall with 10 laps to go for second. Jackson led the rest of the event to win the race, becoming the first multiple time winner over Dingwall and Raabe.

Rock Aubin took the lead in the 25-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock feature over Jocelyn Chicoine and Burton Ward. Current point’s leader Jocelyn Roy moved up to first on lap 4. Aubin still the leader with Stephane Lebrun making his way to the second spot with Chicoine in third. While Aubin still in the lead, Dave Seguin made his way through the field and took third with 10 laps to go. Lebrun tried everything, but Aubin remained first to get this second feature of the season.

The 25-lap Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman saw Adam Rozon taking the lead on lap 3 over Billy Cook. Rozon pulled away from the field. While Rozon was alone in front a good fight occurred in the back of the leader. A final lap restart got the field together, Rozon led all the way to capture his first win of the year.

Jeff May didn’t waste any time taking the lead over the rest of the field in the 20-lap Mod-Lite and quickly pulled away from Kevin Boucher and Rejean Lemieux. On a lap 8 restart, Alexandre Rodier took third over Lemieux. May led the full event and took the win over Boucher and Lemieux who rallied back to take third.

The Quebec Mini-Modified saw defending race winner Patrick Lapolice taking the lead over the rest of the field, Lapolice led all the laps and survived to a hard charging Jean-Christophe Bolduc to win the race for a third year in a row.

One of the biggest show of the season is on tap this coming Thursday evening as the Race for the Cure 150 will be run with 150 laps in for the 358 Modified, it will be the 1st round of the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series for the north region, the Sportsman will have a 50-lap event as the Pro-Stock and Eastern Ontario Vintage will also be on the schedule.
