Laubach, Elliott and Mills Claim Triple 20 Victories

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (July 10, 2005) - Three Modified "hot shoes" shared the Victory Lane champagne Saturday night as Rick Laubach, Quakertown, PA, Ricky Elliott, Seaford, DE and Jamie Mills, Milford, DE split a Triple Threat of thrilling 20 lap feature events as JD3Graphics.com presented a night of racing at the Bridgeport Speedway.

A strong Rick Laubach quickly charged to the front in the first Modified 20 lapper grabbing the lead on lap 3 and never looking back. Despite a hard charge late in the race by Jamie Mills, Laubach would pick up his fourth feature victory of the season. Mills would settle for second with Steve Bottcher, Wade Hendrickson and Mark Forte rounding out the top five finishers.

In the second Modified race, Ricky Elliott endured a hard fought battle with Duane Howard. Elliott continued his rim riding ways differing from the inside lane that Howard desired. Elliott picked up his first victory of the year and his first since returning the J&M Roofing and Builders #85. Howard rode home second, with Danny Johnson finishing third and Kenny Brightbill and Kevin Hirthler following at the line.

In the third feature event, "Jammin" Jamie Mills earned his first place starting position by defeating the top five in the first two feature events in the "Modified Driver Tire Toss." Mills took advantage of his starting spot and held off a determined Danny Johnson for final bragging rights in the Modified nightcap. Johnson would bring home second place honors, with Rick Laubach, Steve Bottcher and Duane Howard completing the top five.

Sewell, NJ's Richie Pratt Jr would bring home "The Bandit Bonus" in the Sportsman fray, picking up an additional $425 for his efforts. This marks Pratt's fourth Sportsman victory of the season. Early race leader, Rob Pierce would come home second with Dan Cogdill finishing third and JD3Graphics Young Guns, Sean Carman and Jimmy Horton IV coming home fourth and fifth respectively.

Pat Conaway picked up his 11th straight victory in the Outlaw Stock division, tying a record held by Ryan Kerr for "Most Consecutive Victories," barely nipping Bill Miller at the line. Miller, who at one point used turn 4 of the ΒΌ mile track to avoid a lapped car, came home a strong second, with Gary Klimeczak, Ken Watson and Terry Griffin rounding out the top five.

Chad James won the battle but lost the war in the GM Crate Sportsman Division. James out powered Chuck Buchman to pick up his fourth victory in the division, but it just wasn't enough to capture the Championship. Buchman landed in second, with early leader Jon Haegele third, with Kevin Labs and Forrest Peters rounding out the top five. Pat Hires, a former Enduro Champion, defeated James by merely two points in the series standings. Our Rookies now look to Friday Night action competing with our GM Crate Sportsman division.

Over thirty contestants proved their creative ability in our Banner Night Competition. A Family Four Pack (including admission and 4 hotdogs and 4 sodas) was presented to the Labs' Girls for their banner of the East Coast Recovery Race Team of Ron Solomon Jr and Kevin Labs. Sean Doyle of Kent, NY had a memorable first Bridgeport Speedway experience as JD3Graphics presented a package of goodies as the youngster chose Jamie Mills as the winner of the Modified Driver Tire Toss.
