Bridgeport NJ- August 20, 2004-Jimmy Horton makes it three in a row in the Big Block Modified Friday Night Thunder Event at Bridgeport Speedway. In the early laps, Ricky Elliott and Wade Hendrickson battled for the lead as Ricky “The Rocket” Elliott pulled out ahead with a significant lead. It appeared Elliott had the event wrapped up, until the 13th caution flag flew, bringing the pack back together. Bad luck found the race leader when Elliott suffered mechanical failure, giving the top spot to Horton. Jimmy Horton never looked back and scored his third Bridgeport Friday Night Big Block Modified win in a row. Gary Walls Jr. drove into victory lane in the 4-cylinder 20-lap event while Joe Trumbetti was crowned victor in the Outlaw Stock 20-Lap Feature at Bridgeport Speedway. Winners in the micro-sprint competitions were; Gary Waegel in the 600 sprints, and Lance Clayton in the 250’s.
