Good Night to be a Wilson, Rickey takes Sprints while Kyle scores two top fives on the same night.

BROCKVILLE-Friday night was a good evening to be a member of the Wilson family. Father Rickey and son Kyle both had great runs as the Patriot Sprint Group paid it's first ever visit to Brockville Ontario Speedway. The legendary Joyceville Jet finished off the sweep of the two sprint car events at the fast quarter mile track in 2004, while the Joyceville Cadet came real close to winning his first Modified feature of the season.

The 20 lap Sprint Car feature was a war of attrition as the early laps resulted in a number of bent up race cars. Rickey took the lead a lap after a mid race restart with his patented high line coming off the top of turn 4 and then blasted away to a relatively easy win over Tim Zambardi. Brian Howland finished third in front of Don Adamczyk. Kyle Wilson fought off a car that wouldn't start earlier in the night to charge through the field to record an impressive top 5 finish with Kingston's Justin Harris in sixth.

Kyle would then start on the pole in the 30 lap Modified main event. The younger Wilson blasted out to a pretty good advantage in the early going as current point leader Steve Paine began his usual trip from the back of the field. The Hurricane caught the leader and then started to apply the pressure taking the top spot around the midway point, "I was finally able to get a bit of a bite from the track at the bottom of turn 2," said Paine in victory lane of the move for the win. Wilson would settle for a season best second spot. Danny O Brien was the top finishing small block in third with Yannick Ledoux and Pat O Brien rounding out the top 5. Tim O Brien in his first Brockville appearance was a very respectable 10th.

Jason Potter saw opportunity knock and then answered it, as he roared off with the 20 lap Sportsman win. Leader Pernie Banks pushed high in turn 2 and that was all Potter would need, quickly diving low and taking the lead on lap 9 and then cruising home from there for the win. Banks held off Jason Riddell for third with the Dingwall brothers Kyle and Cole fourth and fifth respectively.

Fans were treated to a six car battle up front in the 20 lap Steet Stock feature. Shane Ray looked to on his way to victory when the car had to go to the pits with just 3 laps to go. That set up a mad scramble just before the final caution came out with Peter Stapper threading the needle through lapped traffic to grab the lead and going on to take the win. Clay McNamee was second at the checkered, followed by Billy Code, Adam Turner and Steve Billings.

The 12 lap Rookie main event was a two car battle. Bob Ray rebuffed numerous challenges from Brad Kirkland to take the win with Stuart Mullin, Joe Banks and Billy Woodward Jr. all in hot pursuit. Brockville Ontario Speedway returns to action next Friday night with a full race program including an appearance by the Mid State Vintage Stock Car Club, the green flag drops at 7:30
