Bradford, Vt. August 8, 2004

It was Interstate Battery of New-Mont night at the Ridge, with plenty of hot racing excitement after a brief shower passed through the area. Jim Ryan sweeps the weekend with his second win in the Mekkelson RV 358 Modifieds. Other checkered recipients of the night were Tyler Rich in the Gilmour Ford Sportsman Coupes, Mike Gendron in the H.O. Taylor Pro Streets, Wayland Childs in the Journal Opinion Fast Fours and Charlie Lakin in the WYKR 4-cylinder Enduros.

It looks like maybe just maybe Jim Ryan may have finally gotten rid of the monkey that his been riding on his back all season. If nothing else this weekend has to be without a doubt a strong shot in the arm for the morale department, as Ryan made it a clean sweep for the weekend, capturing his second win. Lady Jane (Jim’s mother) made the comment that she wasn’t going to role the car every other week for a win, but for two? Plenty of side by side racing was provided for the fans as these guys continue to put on an impressive show each week. A couple of cautions would slow the pace with the front runners having to come from the back to the front. Ben Elder would be strong early but would fade toward the middle of the race as he watched his lead slip away. At the finish it would be Ryan for the win followed by Douville and Quenneville.

Feature finish: Jim Ryan, Dan Douville, Vince Quenneville, Adam Pierson, Chris Donnelly, Troy Gray, Pete Kimball, Gene Pierson Jr., Carl Murray, Ben Elder, Luke Royea, Brad Phelps, Brian Whittemore, Dick Moses, Tunk Berry, Chad Turck

Heat winners: Ben Elder, Brian Whittemore

Doug Titus finds himself 3 spots shy of a Triple Crown finishing fourth in the Twin State Sportsman Coupe Event. Tyler Rich drew the pole and basically stayed there. Steve Ellsworth was going to make him earn it though, as they raced side by side for fifteen laps swapping the lead back and forth until finally Rich took the lead and stayed there with Ellsworth right in tow. Lapped traffic would keep the front two apart from the pack as Kevin Chaffee and Doug Titus would get within striking distance, but would have to settle for third and forth at the end.

Feature finish: Tyler Rich, Steve Ellsworth, Kevin Chaffee, Doug Titus, Toby Tatro, Kevin Menard, Adam Osgood, Bryan King, Josh Harrington, Matt Ellsworth, Dale Leroux, Mike McGinley, Rich Marsha, Ross Dery, James Hanson, Melvin Pierson, Jeremy Stygles, Luc Gilbert, Rick Fadden,

Heat winners: Kevin Chaffee, Doug Titus. Semi winner: Doug Titus

Mike Gendron continues to increase his point lead over Dan Eastman with yet another win at the Ridge. Will Hull and Gendron would do battle for the lead for several laps with Dan Eastman and Richie Simmons waiting for the mistake to come. The mistake never came and Gendron crossed the line first with Hull Eastman and Simmons in tow.

Feature finish: Mike Gendron, Will Hull, Dan Eastman, Richie Simmons, Ken Hodge, Ryan Avery, Shawn Pallas, Mark White, Anthony Perkins

Heat winners: Will Hull, Ryan Avery

Wayland Childs wins both his heat and the feature and closes to within 20 points of point leader Andy Johnson. With track conditions a little different than normal some new faces would rise to the top of the heap with some of the old guns falling back. This would be Childs first win of the season and Dan Johnston would follow in the bridesmaid position for his first to victory lane.

Finish: Wayland Childs, Dan Johnston, Lenny Garduno, Jamie Putnam, Dean Switser Jr., Billy Simmons, Tim Martin, Andy Johnson, Bobby Bell Jr., Matt Piper, Tim Murphy, Chandra Ryan, Steve Bell, Jesse Durkee, Jeff Perry

In the WYKR 4-Cylinder Enduro twenty two cars would take the green with Charlie Lakin taking home the gold followed by Troy Randall and Kevin Harran.
