Accord Speedway NY – Michael Storms rumbles in to make it two in a row and win number three on the season on HO PENN night!

Friday kicked off the weekend with hot temperatures and some Hot racing as longtime supporters of the Accord Speedway – HO PENN, hosted the evenings events which included six divisions for the nights program.

The Arkel Motors Modifieds started their 30 lap feature with Rich Ricci III and the 85 of Kyle Van Duser on the front row. Van Duser was very strong all night and jumped out to take the early lead. The battle for second heated up right away as Van Duser was able to pull away from the field. The 3 of Joe Judge battled for a few laps with the 16 of Richard Smith and Judge was able to set sail on the top side and run down Van Duser and steal the lead. Marks in the 17 was making his way up front with Creeden and Fotopoulos. Caution would come out and reset the field to make some great racing action throughout the field. The 97 of Danny Tyler had issues in his heat race which made him start last in the feature, he had the car figured out and was making his way through the field. Judge was looking good out in front as the 16 of Creeden spun in turn one bringing out the caution as Ricci Jr and the 55 of Allison Ricci just slipping by. The 14 of Storms got a few taps as he had to come to a stop also. After the restart, Creeden and Storms made their way back up through the field as Ricci Jr and Jimmy Wells had some great racing.The97of Tyler looked strong up front racing with Marks as Storms found his fast way through the turns and used the high side to make his pass for the lead. Judge was in the second spot as Storms pulled away, but the man on the move was the 831 of Wells. Two late race cautions would fly and brought the field to the final few laps. Storms would pick up his third win of the season and second in a row with Jimmy Wells finishing second over Joe Judge, Rich Ricci Jr, and Danny Tyler rounding out the top five.

The Mid-Hudson Concrete Sportsman Feature had the 26s Mike Senecal and the 5 of Charlie Loiodice on the front row. Loiodice had a fast car all night and jumped out to the lead. Senecal would hold on for second as the 24 of Shultz made his way into the top 3. The 20 of Bonetti looked real fast as he was battling with Lapp and finally made his way to the top 5. The man on the move from the tenth starting position, was the 5 of Tyler Johnston. Johnston made his way up to the second position and was running down Loiodice, but as the laps were winding down, there was not enough time. Johnston would settle for the second position as Loiodice would pick up the win. Shultz, Bonetti, and Senecal would round out the top five.

WRWD Country 107.3 Rookie Sportsman Feature had the 25 of Armstrong and the 53 of Williams lead the field to the green flag. Williams would take the high line and jump out to the lead. The 24 of Durbin would grab the second spot as Armstrong went back to third. Miller in the 27 would try to battle with Armstrong , but it would be Steve Williams grabbing the win over Durbin and Armstrong.

WRWD Country 107.3 NEWS Wingless Sprints Feature had the 3 of Jeremy Quick and the 91D of Mick D’aGostino take the front row at the start. Jeremy Quick figured out what to do quickly as he ran out a huge lead and grabbing the win over last week’s winner, D’aGostino and Larry Ricci in the 32 rounding out the top five.

Upstate Auto Pure Stock Feature would see the 22j of Jay Smalley pick up win number three as he had a hard fought battle with the 36 of Hechinger, who would finish second over Chris Kanuk in third.

Dan’s Towing Fireball 4 Cylinder Feature would see a huge field of cars , but the man on the move and hard charger, was the M28 of Mike Travis grab the win from his twelfth starting spot. Tim DeGrote and Brandon Conklin round out the top three.
