PLANCK MAKES STATEMENT WITH IMPRESSIVE OPENING NIGHT 45-LAP FEATURE WIN
FULTON, NY...Dale Planck is clearly back at Fulton Speedway. The former Fulton Speedway Track Champion recorded a very impressive win last Saturday in the DIRT 358 Modified season opening 45-lap main event. Planck worked his way past both Alan Johnson and Danny Johnson and once in front he was never challenged. The victory for the driver of the LYM Motorsports entry was worth $1,800 in the F.X. Caprara Car Companies/Ballistic Race Gear/Bassett Wheels sponsored event.
Alan Johnson and Danny Johnson made up the front row at the start of the season opening DIRT 358 Modified feature race. Danny got the advantage at the start over Alan and he would lead the opening three circuits. Planck started from the third position and was right in the battle for the lead from the start. Planck took the top spot away from Danny Johnson on lap four. After five laps Planck was being followed in the top five by the Johnson's, Jeff Rudalavage and Fuller.
Once in front Planck was never challenged the rest of the way. A couple of caution periods slowed the event, but on every restart Planck resumed and kept the lead. Danny Johnson drove a strong race to finish second in his first regular season appearance at Fulton Speedway in several seasons. Rudalavage passed Fuller in the late going to finish third. John Ramsey completed the top five feature finishers.
Jamie Christian claimed the victory in the opening night 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race last Saturday night. Bill Shantel Jr., Eric Richardson, Ryan Richardson and Donnie Wetmore Jr. completed the top five feature finishers behind Christian. Jim Bowman led the opening 12 laps of the feature race before Christian took command of the event.
Jason Rood was the opening night winner in the DIRT Pro Stock ranks. Lee Burnett, Pat Hobbs, Ray Maloney and Dave Meeks completed the top five feature finishers behind Rood. Rood led the entire 20-lap distance of the event.
Phil Marsden led the way in the 15-lap Pure Stock feature race. Russ Marsden, Bill Flask, Joe Buske and Mark Davison completed the top five feature finishers. Marsden led the entire distance in the event that was stopped for two separate red flag periods. All drivers escaped injury.
Dan Hoffman Jr. was the winner of the Four Cylinder Enduro feature. Chad Guthrie, Rich Evans, Carl Clothier and Ed West finished in positions second through fifth.
