RUDY1

Sarver, PA (July 3, 2020) The full moon was in play on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway as the regular weekly racing program resumed with a different kind of Fab4. The evening was highlighted by an appearance from the BRP Modified Tour where one of the hottest drivers in the Big Block Modified world put on a performance that should be remembered for years to come.

Erick Rudolph had already secured several Big Block and 358 Modified wins in the shortened season at various speedways in the geography where they can be found. However, in eight career starts at The Action Track he had yet to find Terry Bowser Excavating Victory Lane, until tonight. Rudolph moved forward with authority from his 10th starting spot and was making a bid to join the top four in the early part of the 35 lap main event when he found himself facing the wrong way in turn two after contact with Brian Swartzlander with five laps down. Rudolph then proceeded to charge from the rear of the field over the next 28 laps until he made his way back to the second position where he encountered race leader Rex King Sr. mired in lapped traffic in turns three and four down low on the speedway. Rudolph made his way around King and earned his first career victory at Lernerville, pocketing $2,200 for the effort

In the Peoples Natural Gas DIRTcar Sprints, all eyes were on Dan Kuriger from the drop of the green flag as he set the pace up front with a hard charging Brandon Matus ready to pounce on the slightest mistake in order to take the lead away. Behind them, Michael Bauer was driving a near perfect race as he made his way around Matus for second with 10 laps remaining and then rocketed past Kuriger to take the lead. Bauer then cruised to his first career victory at Lernerville, keeping the rest of the field behind him the rest of the way.

For the second week on the season, Joey Zambotti looked to have a trip to victory lane easily within his grasp in Pro Stock action, but once again he managed to spin with the lead in hand, opening the door for Tyler Dietz and Jason Fosnaught to battle it out for the win on Friday night. Dietz was able to keep Fosnaught behind him during remaining laps to garner the victory, pegging a pair of late race restarts. And in Allegheny Sprint Tour action, Greg Dobrosky took the lead from a determined Logan McCandless around the halfway point of the 20 lap feature and never looked back en route to victory lane.

The Fab4 Revved up with Marburger Farm Dairy returns to The Action Track next Friday with the Peoples Natural Gas DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Lae Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks all gracing the red clay !
