SKEBO AND DAGENAIS SPLIT FROGTOWN TWIN 20s

HOGANSBURG, NY - Jerry Skebo and Pierre Dagenais each claimed Modified feature wins on Dwyer's Generation to Generation Twin-20s night at the Frogtown International Speedway. Sid Harmer got his first Pro Stock win of the season, while Jamie Martin won the Semi-Pro, Mitch Jock won the 4-Cylinder Bandits, Casey Swamp won the Bandit Trucks, and Jody Swamp won the 15-lap Slick Track race for Enduro cars.

In the first Modified 20-lapper, Jerry Skebo of Renfrew, ONT pulled ahead of Wilmington's Bruce Sawyer on lap 15 and went on for his first career Modified feature win. Sawyer, who led from the opening green flag, held second until Gatineau, QUE's Peter Mantha, Jr. got by him on the final lap; Sawyer finished third. Pierre Dagenais rallied from 17th starting spot for fourth, with Todd Stewart fifth and defending track champion, Dave Heaslip, in his first race since he broke his collarbone in an opening night rollover, in sixth.

The second 20-lapper saw Craig Ormsby lead the first 13 laps, but a late race flat tire stopped his great run. Gatineau's Pierre Dagenais moved into the lead and got his first win of the season. Massena's Kevin Fetterly turned in his best run of the season for second, while Heaslip came from 14th starting spot to finish third. Leon Gonyo of West Chazy finished fourth, while Massena's Del LeGrow finished fifth.

The second 20-lapper was red flagged on lap four when Dan Jalbert, running near the front of the field, was caught in a scramble and spun into the middle of turn one, triggering a chain-reaction pile-up involving seven cars. Several top runners were eliminated; as of press time, Jalbert is believed to have suffered a leg fracture. Mike Perrotte and Brian McDonald were both transported to area hospitals for observation but released.

In the Pro Stocks, Governeur's Sid Harmer held off Hogansburg's Jody Swamp and Norwood's Steve Francis in a thrilling duel that went down to the wire. Swamp finished alongside Harmer at the finish line for second with Francis right on Harmer's back bumper.

Once again, the Semi-Pro division was very competitive as Fort Covington's Jamie Martin grabbed the win with hometown rival Greg Snyder finishing second. Martin led the first nine laps, but Louie Jackson moved to the top spot0 on lap 10. However, just a lap later, with the white flag waving, Jackson got sideways on the front stretch allowing Martin and Snyder to fly past; Jackson finished third.

Next Saturday, June 19, Frogtown International Speedway hosts the Antique Stock Car Club on Cedar View Golf Course/S&S Smoke Shop night.
