WEAVER, WHITAKER, SHEA, DECKER, AND CHAPMAN TAKE HOME WINS ON BRONSON
CONSTRUCTION NIGHT SUSQUEHANNA, PA – Brian Weaver won his third feature of the
season on Bronson Construction Night at Penn Can Speedway. Al Witaker, Jamie Shea, Brian
Decker, and Bob Chapman have also win their respective feature event on a chilly Friday
evening. Jim Witko Sr. jumped out to an early lead in the Modified feature. After starting in
fourth position, it took Witko only one circuit around the 3/8th clay oval to capitalize on his
starting position. However, just behind him, Brian Weaver was being to make a charge through
the field. Weaver started 11th and his car was hooked up. No matter where he went on the
racetrack, he could move ahead another position. By lap 5, he was on the rear bumper of Witko.
It took Weaver another 5 laps before he made his pass, pulling around the outside of Witko and
taking the lead for good. Weaver went on to hold off a hard charging Kirk Horton at the end to
capture his third victory of the season. Horton, making an incredible run from deep in the field,
finished in second. Mike Colsten had another top five finish coming home third. Witko fell back
to fourth and Tommy McGurren finished in fifth. In the Late Model Feature, Al Whitaker was able
to pull off a victory, making it the first time in seven years. Alan Coy took the point away from
Whitaker on lap 8, but Whitaker battled back on lap 11 and took home the won. Gene
Sharpsteen and Jeremy Stone made their way around a fading Al Coy for second and third. Coy
came home fourth and Randal Paxton was fifth. Pete Gulick jumped out to an early lead until
Brett Spoor powered around the 13 Street Stock. Spoor held the point for three laps until a hard
charging Jamie Shea made his way to the outside and around Spoor while Shea went on to win
his fourth win of the season. Spoor finished second, Gulick finished third followed by Tracy
Gregory and Rich Keehle. Jeff Cleveland led the field in Pure Stock feature action for the first 13
laps of the event. Ken Sparks tried everyway to get around but he could muster enough
horsepower. Brian Decker came from deep in the pack and made his way around Cleveland after
he bobbled it coming out of turn 4. Decker went on to win his fifth win of the season and
marinating his points lead in the Pure Stock division. Ken Sparks finished in second followed by
Rick hand, Eric Pribula and Shawn Olenski. In IMCA Modified feature action, John Conway led
