The gates at Woodhull Raceway opened to a typical hot August night Saturday the 17th. The stands were full of fans looking forward to watching the S & W Imaging sponsored regular five star show and the R & M Home and Auto Amsoil sponsored Late Model Reunion.

The excitement kept rising as the 358 Modifieds and the Late Models had a Dash for Cash. The race consisted of six cars, the top three cars in points for each class. Racing for the 358 Modifieds #17 Lyle Sherwood, #12 Billy VanPelt, and #Z8 Steve Hartman. Racing for the Late Models #32 Jeff Hoffman, #61T Kenny Trevitz, and #04 Bob Close.

It was a close race all the way to the finish as #12 Billy VanPelt crossed the line first.

Things seemed to move along quickly through the night, even with all of the extra races as there were not a lot of cautions in the features. Most of the features finished with only one or two cautions, not bad.
