RANSOMVILLE,NY...9/6/97...Alan Johnson of Phelps, NY collected the

modified feature last Friday night at the big "R". Johnson took

the lead away from Danny Johnson and proceeded to lap all but 9

cars before taking the dominating win.

Tim McCredie took the early lead at the drop of the green

followed by Todd Burley, Brian Stevens, Danny Johnson and Ricky

Richner. Lap 15 found Burley take over the top spot with Danny

Johnson in tow. Coming up through the pack was Ron Smoker as he

broke into the top five.

way to the front and was in second just after half way. Danny had

a half a straight away lead which Alan closed in a hurry. Danny

the highside and around his brother for the lead. In the final

laps, Alan proceeded to lap all but 9 cars on his way to the

checkered. Danny Johnson held onto second followed by Ron Smoker,

Todd Burley and Steve Paine. The guaranteed spots for Syracuse

went to Ron Smoker and Rich Vinson.

side the entire race with Roger Chrysler for the spot. Herriven

continued to show the way to the checkered with Walker finishing

in second. Gary Gow, Pete Stefanski and Howard Mt.Pleasant

rounded out the top five. Dave Schulz captured the prostock

points championship.

control at the drop of the green and never looked back, going on

to win his first feature ever. JW Flagler, Tim Young, Rick
