by April May Preston

BRADFORD, Vt. -- Rick Martel wins his first career win at the Ridge on Saturday night in the Mekkelsen RV 358 Modifieds.

Starting from deep in the field Martel was still out to clear the air from the bad week before. Having enjoyed victory lane so much Friday night at sister track Canaan Fair Speedway Martel worked his way to the front and stayed there. Following him for second having come from even further back was Jim Ryan. Rounding out the top five were Gene Pierson, Troy Gray and Carl Murray.

In the Journal Opinion Fast Fours Kelly Miller and Steve Bell brought the strong field of cars to the green. Andy Johnson and Chris McKinstry had to come from deep in the pack, and this time the bridesmaid role would be finally switched. Johnson was able to work his way to front and stay there followed by Dean Switser Jr, and a very impressive 3rd place finish for Wayland Childs. Completing the top five were Lenny Garduno and Chris McKinstry.

In the Gilmour Ford Sportsman Coupes Rookie Paul Towle and Josh Harrington paced the field to the green. Things quickly shifted as fierce competion ensued for the elite position of 1st place. When the dust settled it would be Josh Harrington remaining on the top followed by a very impressive finish by Louis Cadwell having come from the last row in the field and Doug Titus. Rounded out the top five were Adam Pierson and Kevin Chaffee.

In the H.O. Taylor Pro Streets with a very strong field of cars Bryan King found himself in victory lane having to work his way through thick traffic. Following King were Ryan Avery, Richard Glode, Dan Eastman and Mark White.
