Mitch Gibbs, Al MacRabie, Mark Cook and Russell Hendrickson all visited Victory Lane on WCDO night. Under a lightning filled sky Gibbs picked up his seventh feature win of the year while Mark Cook was taking his first ever feature win in the 4 Cylinder Street Stock division.
Dave Rosa and Ed Hawley brought the 23 car Modified field around to the green flag Rosa's early lead lasted until turn two when the rear end broke loose sending the number 61 sideways collecting Ed Hawley and Mike Baldwin. On the restart Joe Buchek jumped out into the lead Joe was able to hold onto the lead until Mitch Gibbs powered into the lead on a fourth lap restart. Gibbs and Buchek held on to the top spots until Ron Proctor slipped by Buchek's #17 on the 16th lap. The stage was set for the final lap shoot out. With Joe Buchek running low in third, Chuck Kennison, searching for a route around Joe Buchek, in fourth and Mike Clapperton trying everything but flying over Kennison in fifth, the pack entered turns three and four Gibbs and Proctor safety crossed the line in first and second. Clapperton elected to take the high road and swept by Buchek and Kennison to take third. Buchek and Kennison came together in turn four collecting Robbied Green, Jamie Page and J.R. Hurlburt. Earl Walrath came across the line in fourth and Wink Hinkley finished in fifth.
Jerry Northrup and Boyd Carlisle took the early lead in the Street Stock feature. On the fifth lap Carlisle pulled the #98 into the lead and held on until Al MacRabie moved into second place on the 7th lap. MacRabie and Carlisle swapped the lead until lap 12 when MacRabie took the advantage down the backstretch and held on to take the win. Boyd Carlisle crossed the line in second with Herm Slack in third and Tim French and Gary Smith rounding out the top five.
In the 4 Cylinder Street Stock feature Mark Cook took the lead from the drop of the green and was able to hold off threats from Rich Watson and Dave Jaindl to take his first feature win. Dave Jaindl finished in second with Rick Lashway in third, George Proctor in fourth and Rich Rought in fifth.
Russell Hendrickson lead the four cylinder B Main from start to finish with Lonnie Barnes, Chris Korn,Ron Cole and Pat Mednansky rounding out the top five.
