DANNY JOHNSON WON HIS THIRD STRAIGHT IN THE MODIFIEDS

Paul Bitterman and John Hagerman brought the field down for the start ofthe 35 lap main event. Robbie Krull made it three wide taking the lead in turnone. Fred Cade followed him through taking over second as Bitterman spun in turnfour bringing out the caution. The top five were Krull, Cade, Harry Sitler, Jamie Turner and Rich Vinson. On the restart, Krull maintained the lead as contact was made just behindhim sending several cars into the turn one guardrail...included were PeteBicknell, Paul Lampman, Rich Vinson and Jeff Kidrowski. After this maylay...thetop five were Krull, Cade, Turner, Sitler and now McGinnis. On the restart, Krull set the pace as McGinnis charged into second. Turner ran third followed by Cade, Todd Burley and the Johnson boys running just out of the top five.Caution lap seven for Don Spatarico who spun in turn one slowed the field onceagain. Krull continued to lead as Danny Johnson picked way up to second. Danmoved into challenge Krull as yet another caution flew to close up the field. On the restart, Danny took over the lead on the top side followed by Krull nowsecond. Alan Johnson was also hooked up on top as moved into third. DonMcGinnis and Jamie Turner rounded out the top five. The field would continue on this way til about two laps to go when itappeared that Danny Johnson's tires were used up. Krull was able to close thegap in the closing laps but ran out of time as Danny collected his third in arow at the big "R" followed by Krull, Alan Johnson, Pete Bicknell and McGinnis.
