FULLER WINS BOTH DIRT BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURES AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON FERRIS INDUSTRIES NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Tim Fuller won both 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified features at Fulton Speedway Saturday on Ferris Industries Night. Fuller beat Jimmy Phelps in the rain-delayed opener from May 22 and Alan Johnson in the nightcap. Fuller pocketed $4,000 on the night and in the process took over the point lead in the B&F General Machine sponsored DIRT Modified.

Brian Murphy raced out to the early lead at the start of the rain delayed DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the pole starting position. After five laps the rookie driver continued to lead the field and was being chased in the top five by Jimmy Phelps, Tim Sears, Ryan Phelps and Tom Sears. Murphy led the opening six laps of the main event.

Jimmy Phelps took the top spot away from Murphy on lap seven. At the halfway mark Phelps was being chased in the top five by Fuller, Tom Sears, Ryan Phelps and Alan Johnson. Phelps was running strong in search of his first feature win of the season, but Fuller was starting to work through the field. It was on lap-24 when Fuller was able to work under Phelps for the lead.

Johnson moved into the second spot on lap-30, but just one circuit later he dropped out of the event with mechanical problems. Fuller went on to the victory with Jimmy Phelps finishing a strong second. Pat Ward, Matt Sheppard and Jeff Rudalavage completed the top five feature finishers. Tim Sears, Jeff Rudalavage, John Barker, Vinnie Vitale and Jim Witko finished in positions sixth through tenth respectively.

Pete Taylor jumped out to the early lead at the start of the nightcap DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. Taylor led the first five circuits over the talented field. It was on lap six when Ryan Phelps took the top spot away from Taylor. The second generation driver was running strong in the back-up Pat Ward ride.

Ryan Phelps led the opening 15-laps before Alan Johnson slipped by for the lead on lap-16. Johnson charged up fast from the eighth starting position using the bottom lane to perfection. Just when it appeared that Johnson was going to run away and hide from the field Fuller started to make another charge. The two talented drivers raced in and out of lapped traffic for the lead.

It was on lap-28 when Fuller was finally able to take the lead away from Johnson. In the closinhg laps Johnson remained in striking distance but that was it. Fuller earned his second win of the evening while Johnson had to settle for second. Billy Decker, Jeff Rudalavage and Ryan Phelps completed the top five feature finishers.

Kevin Bates won his first ever 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race at Fulton Speedway Saturday night. The 17 year-old driver beat out Jeremy Pitcher, Greg Doust, Tom Juhl and Donnie Wetmore Jr. for the victory. Bates came from the fifth position on lap-14 and passed Pitcher for the victory on lap-18.

Jeremy Clark returned to the winners circle at the conclusion of the 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock main event. Ray Maloney, Lee Burnett, T.J. Fitzgibbons and John Underwood followed Clark across the finish line. Clark passed Underwood on lap-six for the lead and he never gave it back.
