TODD BURLEY, PETE STEFANSKI, MARK LAFLER, ALEX MORRIS AND ROGER ISRAEL CLAIM FEATURE WINS AT RANSOMVILLE
Ransomville, NY...Friday, June 17th, 2005-Todd Burley of Spencerport, NY topped the Mighty Taco Modified field for his fifth win of the season. Piloting his Industrial Tire sponsored machine, Burley took the lead away from rookie Jon Miller slightly prior to half way and took the win by a large margin over Pete Bicknell, Scott Wood, Ricky Richner, and Chad Brachmann. Bicknell had made a late race charge to emerge to second in the final laps. Wood also continued his great run…having been at the big R for the last three weeks, Wood has been very competitive right out of the gate. Brachmann rebounded to a nice finish after being "bounced" around early in the event. Miller had led the event until lap thirteen but was unable to hold back the Tornado. Sam Crogan suffered a disappointing finish after mud built up in his right rear while running second with just five laps remaining.
Pete Stefanski of Wheatfield, NY continued his total domination of the Bobcat of Buffalo ProStock division last Friday night. Stefanski won his sixth of the season and fifth in a row aboard the twenty lap main event. Stefanski took the lead away from Don Barnes with less than a hand full of laps remaining enroute to the win. Barnes was able to hold onto the runner up position followed by Dan Shoop, Steve Lewis, and Mike Williams. Barnes had led the beginning stages and also enjoyed a large lead at one point prior to a yellow flag bunching up the field.
Mark Lafler of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the Micro-Sprint twenty lap main event. Lafler took the lead away from Jerry Gurney before the mid-way point and held Ryan Gamble at bay in the late stages. Gamble was able to bring home the second position followed by Eric Bovee, Jim Lafler, and John Dates. Tom Mahar of Ransomville, NY gave everyone a moment of pause as he came to rest on lap five with a fire under the hood. Mahar was able to escape unharmed.
Alex Morris of Sanborn, NY took top honors aboard the first Previty's Motor Cars Streetstock feature main event. Morris inherited the lead on lap six when Jaren Israel developed a flat right rear tire. Morris was able to distance himself from the remainder of the field and take the dominating win. Morris became the thirteenth different winner in the entry level division. Dan Baughman enjoyed his best finish of the season in second followed by Kenny Brant, Rick Gorhan, and Mike Seefeldt.
Roger Israel collected his second win in the Previty's Motor Cars Streetstock division last Friday night. Israel took the lead away from rookie Scott Krull around the mid-way point and held the top spot through the final lap in the fifteen circuit affair. Krull was able to hold on to second followed by Nate Reynolds, Digger Lester, and Jason Meyers.
In the Go-Karting exhibition Cody Kott took the Novice Go-Kart feature win, Jesse Johnston won the Junior I class, Matthew Edwards won the Junior II, Chris Purgarich won the Junior Restricted main, Ryan Susice was victorious in the Stock Medium, and Marc Lombardo took the win in the Masters class.
