Matt Sheppard drives to victory on Short Track Super Series North at Utica-Rome Speedway

Matt Sheppard won the 61 lap Short Track Super Series North Richie Evans Remembered 61 at the Utica-Rome Speedway on Thursday. This was Matt's seventeenth win of the season, eighth at Utica-Rome Speedway this year, and second Short Track Super Series North win of the season. For the 42 year old Sheppard it was their seventy-ninth win putting him first on the Utica-Rome Speedway win list since 1996.
Finishing 3.4860 seconds behind in second was Stewart Friesen. This was Stewart's twenty-sixth Top 5 of the season, fouth at Utica-Rome Speedway this year, and fifth Short Track Super Series North Top 5 of the season.
Finishing third was Jimmy Phelps, their sixteenth top 5 of the year.
Finishing fourth was Mat Williamson, their thirty-eighth top 5 of the year.
Finishing fifth was Mike Mahaney, their fourteenth top 5 of the year.
Alex Yankowski, Pat Ward, Jack Lehner, Tim Fuller, and Mike Trautschold rounded out the top 10.
