DAVE BISSONNETTE SCORES MR RADIATOR WIN AT EDELWEISS SPEEDWAY

Edelweiss Speedway played host to Mr Radiator Pro Stock feature Friday night before the largest crowd of this young season and Dave ‘’Bulldog’’ Bissonnette took top honour.

The Cornwall driver scored his second feature title by being on the gas very early and took the lead nearly at the drop of the green flag and played catch me if you can all the way in the long 50 lapper. Young Joey Ladouceur who was at Bissonnette’s rear end through out the first 40 laps faded coming home and had to settle with a fourth place finish. Akwasasne’s John Lazore was runner up and Marc Therrien of Alexandria completed the podium. Denis Gauvreau rounded out the fast five. Bissonnette along with Joey Ladouceur and Cornwall Motor Speedway promoter Ron Morin were the qualifying heat winners.

Dave ‘’The Slip’’ Heaslip gave the field the slip in the modifieds as the Smith Falls driver captured his second feature in a row of this young season at the Val des Monts oval. With favourites Pierre Dagenais and Laurent Ladouceur out of the action early after retiring to the pits, Heaslip didn’t waste any time behind as he took the lead at lap ten after leaving from his tenth driving spot and cruised his way to the winners circle. Billy Cook ended second and Kyle Jacobs had to settle for third best in this 30 lap affair. Lee Ladouceur and Brian MacDonald rounded out the top five. Heaslip, Dagenais and Jim Lazore each won a leg of the qualifiers.

It sure was the night for repeats Friday night as Michel Robert also scored his second win of the season in the eight cylinders. The Masham driver left Claude Laurin and last week’s winner Tammy Jalbert who now sits on top of the drivers standing behind him at the finish line while Jonathan Holmes and Wakefield ’s Dave Noganosh completed the fast five. Michel Robert, Serge Lagace and defending champion Dominic Gauvreau each won a leg of the qualifying preliminaries.

Patrice Legault of Gatineau took top honour in the four cylinders by taking the measure of Nico Leblanc and Jonathan Galipeau who took home third money for his effort. Jarrid Foley and Alain St-Pierre rounded out the top five. Legault and Brian Rochon each won a leg of the qualifiers. Dany Larose of Gatineau leads the way in the drivers standing while Nico Leblanc and Erin Joyce are second and third respectively

Action will resume this coming Friday night June13 at Edelweiss Speedway where besides the regular and full card of racing, a demolition derby will be featured plus a Pit Stop Competition for modifieds. The green flag drops at 7:45 sharp.
