The Balanced Energy Center sponsored night saw the Jack's Competition Engines 358 Modifieds make their final appearance on the dirt in 2005 Friday night with Chris Donnelly of Orford NH taking home the checkers for their forty lap main. Your other checkers holders were Adam Lyman in the Lin-Mat Photo Fast Fours, Louis Cadwell in the Sabil & Sons Sportsman Coupes, Mike in the Outlaw Late Models Richie Simmons in the Pro Streets "The Preacher" in the Granite State Mini Sprint 500ccâ?Ts and Mike Catino Jr. in the 600 cc's.

In the Granite State Mini Sprints the two feature winners are guaranteed a starting spot in the 2nd annual fall foliage winged weekend just weeks away at the Fair October 7-8-9th. The Preacher driving the #88 of Si Allen in the 500 cc's and Mike Catino Jr in the 600 cc's were the lucky "double" winners. In the Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Sabil & Sons Sportsman Coupes Adam Osgood got the jump on Bryan King and dominated the show. Following in his dust was Melvin Pierson and Doug Titus as the two of them battled it out over several laps having gotten by Louis Cadwell in the early going. While the laps flew by so did Cadwell on the outside of the pack. By lap thirteen Cadwell had his sites on Osgood and began to work him. As the white flew it looked to be all Osgood, until down the back shoot Cadwell made his move and got by Osgood for the win, crossing the line first. Following Osgood in third was Melvin Pierson with Doug Titus and Ryan Avery completing the top five. This was also the Sportsman Coupes last regular track show which means that the champion was determined with the completion of this event. For 2005 your Sabil and Sons Sportsman Coupe champion is Ryan Avery of Thornton NH. by four points over Melvin Pierson.

The Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Jack's Competition Engines 358 Modifieds were on hand for a twin state event which means 40 laps of ground stomping action. Jim Ryan would set the pace and lead the first half of the race. Following him would be Brain Whittemore and Chris Donnelly doing battle for the second place spot. Donnelly would finally prevail setting Whitt back to third. Whitt would drop back to fifth before it was all said and done. By the time half way was recorded no cautions had flown and it was Donnelly in the coveted first place spot. Lap 35 would see the only caution of the night and Donnelly was once again able to prevail. Along with him would be Dan Douville falling into second with Jim Ryan holding onto third.

The Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Lin-Mat Photos Fast Fours

Joe Billingham and Chuck Simmons brought the field to the green for twenty five laps of Fast Four racing. By the completion of the first circuit Simmons had taken command and the lead. Billingham's night would end early for him as mechanical problems would send him pit side. Ryan Christian would start out strong securing the second spot for the first several laps. With Adam Lyman in third. As the laps ticked off Simmons would continue to dominate while the rest of the field jockeyed for positions. Simmons led the field of hounds for twenty laps before finding himself in the rear on a late race restart. Ready willing and able to fill his spot would be Adam Lyman, with him would be Mitch Durkee last weeks feature winner and Chris Gray. At the checkers that is how the trio would cross the line. Lyman bringing home the gold for his crew and the night's sponsor, Balanced Energy Center. Rounding out the top five was Ryan Christian and Joe Emery.

This Friday night September 16th it is Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Championship night at the Fair on the dirt. On hand will be the Connecticut Valley Spectator Sprint Cars with their Madness night, plus the Sabil & Sons Sportsman Coupes with a Twin State event, the Out Law Late Models/Pro Streets, the Lin Mat Photo Fast Fours, and the Granite State Mini Sprints.

If you haven't been to the fastest quarter mile dirt in New Hampshire, then this is the night you should come.

Canaan Fair Speedway "the Fair" is located on Orange Rd. in Canaan NH just 12 short miles from I-89. Twice the Tracks Twice the Excitement.

Bear Ridge Speedway is located off exit 16 of I91. From there it is on to rte 25 west for 1 mile to South Road up the hill to Kidder Rd. Follow the signs.
