Chris Donnelly brings home another win in the Jack’s Competition 358 Modifieds, with his command performance Friday night at the Canaan Fair Speedway. Two firsts were had in the Lin-Mat Photo Fast Fours and Sabil & Sons Sportsman Coupes at Nick Berry and Toby Stark bring home the checkers respectfully in those divisions.

The Granite State Mini Sprints were once again with a very strong car count in both the 500 and 600 mini machines. As always these mighty mini machines put on some excellent racing excitement for the fans with plenty of action.

In the Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Sabil & Sons Sportsman Coupes it was all local boy Toby Stark of Canaan NH as he got the lead on lap one, survived two cautions and went on to claim his first win of the 2005 season. The points battle in this exciting division continues to be ever changing as some of the top guns would experience mechanical difficulties, not faring well overall. Doug Titus, Bryan King, and Melvin Pierson were three of those drivers, with each of them finishing laps down at the end of the night. Capitalizing on Titus’s misfortune on lap thirteen would be Adam Osgood, who assumed the second place spot at Titus’s demise. Along with Osgood to accompany Stark to victory lane would be Louis Cadwell. Completing the top five were Earl Maxham Jr., and Rick Fadden.

The Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Pro Streets were once again accompanied by the Outlaw Late models. At the end of 20 laps it would be Mike Tinker for the win over Chad Turck, and Mike Rivers. In the Pro Streets Brian Piper would prevail over Danny Eastman.

The Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Lin-Mat Photos Fast Fours were ready to do battle for twenty laps of racing excitement. The high light of night would be the outstanding performance of Roy Holland Sr. Holland Sr. would win his first heat race (first win) ever and then go on to lead the first half of the feature. Nick Berry and Adam Lyman would say enough is enough and take control of the second half of the race swapping the pole position for the remaining ten laps at the checkers Barry would prevail with the win over Lyman, and Mark Brown would cross the line in 3rd. Holland Sr would fall just one spot short of a trophy position, but was beaming from ear to ear with his performance.

It was madness time for the Clear Channel Weekly Racing Series Jack’s Competition Engines 358 Modifieds. Forty three laps were collected by the drivers which meant two 23 lap segments were on hand for the ground stomping machines. The first segment would see Jimmy Ryan on the pole having garnered the most laps to award him that spot, along side him would be the young gun Adam Pierson. Pierson would get the jump on the start bringing Chris Donnelly with him. Ryan would once again experience mechanical problems, as he watched his golden position fade away. At the end of twenty three laps Pierson would be your winner with Donnelly and Brian Whittemore crossing second and third. Completing the top five were Tyler Rich and Jimmy Ryan

Segment one finish: Adam Pierson #15, Chris Donnelly #17, Brian Whittemore #36, Tyler Rich #44, Jim Ryan #60, Ben Elder #18, Pete Kimball #47, Christine Boesch #17x

The field would then be inverted for the second segment, from the cars remaining on the track at the checkers. Ben Elder and Jim Ryan would set the pace for the field for their final twenty tree laps of the night. Ryan would once again fall back with mechanical problems, while Elder held on to the lead until about half way. The unstoppable Chris Donnelley had worked his way from the back and by lap ten had taken the lead from Elder. The next lap would see Adam Pierson putting Elder back yet another position. That is how the top three would cross the line with Jim Ryan finishing fourth with Pete Kimball in fifth.

This week at the fair it is the return of the Connecticut Valley Sprint Cars of New England sponsored by Southern Connections Real Estate. It will be MADNESS night for the Sprint Cars, along with regular features for the Lin-Mat Fast Fours, Pro Streets, and a Twin State event for the Sabil & Sons Sportsman Coupes.

Canaan Fair Speedway “the Fair” is located on Orange Rd. in Canaan NH just 12 short miles from I-89. Twice the Tracks Twice the Excitement. The green waves every Friday at 7:00pm on the dirt and Saturday at 6:00pm on the Asphalt.

Bear Ridge Speedway is located off exit 16 of I91. From there it is on to rte 25 west for 1 mile to South Road up the hill to Kidder Rd. Follow the signs.
