DECKER HOLDS OFF ALL CHALLENGERS FOR HIS SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON AT BREWERTON SPEEDWAY ON JE PISTONS NIGHT

BREWERTON, NY…Billy Decker won his second DIRT Big Block Modified feature of the season last Friday at Brewerton Speedway on JE Pistons Night. Decker worked up from the 17th starting position to take the lead on lap 12. Once in front Decker held off the challenge first of Bob McCreadie and then Alan Johnson to earn the victory. The win for the driver of Mirabito Fuel Group, Ross Motorsports entry was worth $1,700.

R.C. Faigle jumped out to the early lead at the JE Pistons DIRT Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. Faigle only led the opening circuit before Mike Adderley powered by on lap two. After five circuits Adderley continued to lead and was being followed in the top five by Tim McCreadie, Jimmy Phelps, Tony Buffa and Alan Johnson.

Tim McCreadie was able to take the top spot away from Adderley on lap 10. The second-generation driver wasted no time in moving up from the 13th starting position, but his race ended on lap 11. Decker inherited the lead at this time after working up from the 17th starting position. Bob McCreadie moved into the second spot on lap 13 after charging up from the 21st starting position.

Bob McCreadie challenged Decker on several occasions, but was never able to slip by. In the late going Johnson made his patented late race charge and moved by McCreadie for second on lap 27. Johnson was able to run down Decker, but he ran out of time. Decker claimed the win by a car length over Johnson. Bob McCreadie made his first start in his new Bicknell chassis a successful one with a third place finish. Chuck Bower and Tim Fuller completed the top five in the very competitive field.

Billy Dunn won his first IMCA Modified feature of the season last Friday night. Bill Anderson Sr., George Valenti, Kevan Cook and Bill Anderson Jr. followed Dunn across the finish line. Rich Keller led the opening lap of the feature before Kevan Cook took command on lap two. Dunn passed Cook for the lead on the sixth circuit and would lead the rest of the way in the 20-lap affair.

John Behron won his second straight Dwarf Car main event last Friday night. Tod Simons, Steve Miller, Bob Garafolo and Kreig Heroth finished in positions second through fifth behind Behron. Darren Forbes led the opening two laps of the main event. Simons took the top spot on lap three and would lead through lap 11. Behron passed Simons on lap 12 and led the rest of the 20-lap event.

Chuck Powelczyk won his fourth straight feature race in the Four Cylinder Stock division last Friday night. Rick Angle, John West, Bruce Ackley and Russ Wassner followed Powelczyk across the finish line. Powelczyk took the lead away from Angle on the fourth circuit and led the rest of the way in the 15-lap affair.

Bill Clark was the winner of the popular race for the Four Wheelers over a field of 14 entrants.

Racing will continue this Friday at Brewerton Speedway with the ARDC Midgets joining the DIRT Big Block Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, Dwarf Cars and Four Cylinder Stocks for a big Memorial Day Weekend show.
