TIM McCREADIE CHARGES TO SECOND STRAIGHT WIN ON SYRACUSE.COM NIGHT

BREWERTON, NY…Tim McCreadie is now the driver with the hot hand at Brewerton Speedway. McCreadie claimed his second straight DIRT Big Block Modified feature win at the D-shaped DIRT Demon last Friday on Syracuse.com Night. The second-generation driver came charging from the 14th starting position to the lead in just 12 circuits. The victory for the Sweetner’s Plus team was worth $1,700.

Young Ryan Phelps raced out to the early lead at the start of the Syracuse.com DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the pole starting position. Phelps would lead the opening two circuits. On lap three Jimmy Phelps took the lead away from his cousin. Jimmy Phelps would lead through lap four. Pat Ward became the third different leader of the event on lap five.

Ward would also lead the field for two circuits. Jimmy Phelps regained the lead from Ward on lap seven. After 10 laps Jimmy Phelps continued to lead and was being chased in the top five by Tim McCreadie, Ward, Ryan Phelps and Chuck Hebing. Steve Hulsizer, Frankie Caprara, Chuck Bower, Scott Prentice and Alan Johnson raced in positions sixth through tenth respectively at this point of the race.

McCreadie powered under Jimmy Phelps for the lead on lap 12. Once in front McCreadie was never challenged in the race that went the final 33 laps straight through without a caution period. Alan Johnson made his patented late-race charge to finish second. Jimmy Phelps recorded his best finish of the season with a strong third place finish.

Ward finished fourth, while Ryan Phelps finished fifth, his best ever outing at Brewerton Speedway. Hebing, Bower, Hulsizer, Tim Fuller and Prentice finished in positions sixth through tenth respectively in the highly competitive field.

Bill Anderson Sr. won his second IMCA Modified feature of the season last Friday night. Bill Anderson Jr., Tom Ralph, Les Hubbard and Coleen Finch completed the top five feature finishers. Anderson Sr. took the lead away from Ralph on lap five. In the closing laps he was able to hold off his son for the victory in the 20-lap race.

Tim Devendorf won his first ever Brewerton Speedway Dwarf Car feature race last Friday night. Joe Garafolo, Mark Cooper, Dan Williams and Darren Forbes followed Devendorf across the finish line. Devendorf took the lead away from Tim Burdick on lap nine and led the rest of the distance for the victory in the 20-lap affair.

Chuck Powelczyk claimed another Four Cylinder Stock feature race victory last Friday night. Jeff Herbert, Doug Farnsworth, Rick Angle and Russ Wassner completed the top five feature finishers behind Powelczyk. Herbert and Powelczyk traded the lead on several occasions during the event. At the end it was Powelczyk earning the victory in a paint-swapping 15-lap event.

Racing will continue this Friday at Brewerton Speedway with the DIRT Big Block Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, Dwarf Cars, Four Cylinder Stocks and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers all in action.
