Sarkisian and Laubach Split Bridgeport Twin Twenties

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (August 6, 2005)- Bob Sarkisian of Woolwich, NJ and Rick Laubach of Quakertown, PA bested two breathtaking feature events this Saturday as RMP Powertrain Solutions presented Twin Twenties at the Bridgeport Speedway.

Bob Sarkisian took full advantage of a fifth place starting position in the first twenty lap feature event, overtaking Chic Cossaboone for the lead at the halfway point. But don't be mistaken it was no easy task for the Superior Scaffolding Services #47 Dirt Wheels machine, a yellow flag with 4 laps to go stacked the field giving Bridgeport hotshoes Rick Laubach, Jamie Mills and Duane Howard the opportunity to set their eyes on the prize. "The Shark" held them off grabbing his first win by almost two second over runner-up Rick Laubach. Duane Howard came home third, Jamie Mills fourth and Don Barone fifth picking up another great top five run.

The modified nightcap provided for down and dirty hardcore racing action. Pole Sitter Mark Forte and "The Quaker Shaker" Rick Laubach battled back and forth slicing and dicing for the top spot. A caution at the halfway mark gave Point Leader Duane Howard the opportunity to pounce on the leaders, moving to the inside, setting up a three wide battle for the lead, entering turn 1. With Forte rim riding and Laubach in the middle moving down the backstretch and entering turns three and four, Laubach and Forte gained the advantage and pulled away from Howard. Side-by-side for the next six laps Forte and Laubach continued battling it out, until Forte's car began to slow after contact with the front stretch wall retiring the #40 from the event. It was all Laubach to the finish picking up his fifth victory of the season. Duane Howard settled for second, Danny Johnson

It was almost déjà vu, of last Saturday's Sportsman feature event. Laurel, DE's Kevin Collins leading the way and out of no where Blue Anchor, NJ's JD3Graphics Young Gun, Mark Forte Jr. rim riding around the pack pasing, at one time five cars in a single lap. This time, however, Forte won without the technicality, edging out Collins, at the line, by a bumper. Collins would settle for second, John Stangle came home third, "The Outlaw" Eric Kormann finishing fifth, and Young Gun "Drive-Thru Drew" Ricco rounding out the top five.

Vineland, NJ's Bill Miller grabbed his second of the season in the Outlaw Stock Feature event. Miller put the Flash in the Pan Graphics #m80 into the lead on a lap 2 restart as Pat Conaway moved from the tenth starting position to right on Miller's bumper. The two swapped back and forth for the remainder of the event with Miller bottom feeding the inside of the speedway. Conaway settled for second, with Rich Reider, Gary Klimgczak, and Fred Ingham following at the line.
