Pauch Back on Top Friday Night at Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (June 11, 2005)- After suffering engine woes in the early stages of the 2005 Friday Night season Frenchtown, NJ's Billy "The Kid" Pauch claimed his place on top grabbing his second victory.

It was high paced and ever so close racing action on the DIRT 5/8th mile speedway. Opening Night Winner Tommy Beamer took the lead early but all-time feature winner Jimmy Horton followed right on his tail. The Grosso Trucking #42 Bicknell was lightning fast and pulled away from the field as Pauch moved into the second position. It was side-by-side racing action between Pauch and Horton for the number one spot. The action was fierce mid-pack-the battle for third had Beamer careening through the corners on the high side and GR Smith down low, while Ryan Bettz found himself in a the three car battle for fifth with "Young Guns" Ken Meisner and "The Thrill" Jesse Hill. Pauch rocketed past Horton at the half way point and never looked back picking up his second victory of the 2005 racing season. Horton came home second, with GR Smith, Ken Meisner and Tommy Beamer rounding out the top five.

In GM Crate Sportsman action, "Outlaw" Eric Kormann answered back to the Sportsman victories of "Young Guns" Sean Carman and Mark Forte, dominating the GM Crate Sportsman Race. Kormann came from deep in the pack in the Rick Kostis #12 and grabbed the lead from "Young Gun," Jimmy Horton IV. Horton settled for second with Mike Fattori, Todd Kuhl and Rookie, Chuck Buchman following.

It was "Ladies Night" in the 270 Micro Sprint Division as Jessica Lindmeier was on the throttle hard grabbing her first victory on the dirt ¼ mile. Jim Wyers, Shaun Ratchford, John Blanda and Bob DeVault rounded out the top five.

Current point leader Glenn Heverin picked up the win in the 600cc Micro Sprint Division. Heverin, who is in a tight point battle with Phil Meisner Jr, edged out Sam Casella to the line with Stewart Carmichael in third, Bill Thomas in fourth and Jimmy Carpenter in fifth.

Brian Crisman took advantage of his sixth place starting spot and captured the victory in the 4 Cylinder Stock class. It was Mike Hughes, Point Leader Dave Bentley Sr, Dave Bentley Jr. and Fred Martin trailing Crisman at the checkered.
