Doug Hoffman scores two feature wins in the Triple 20’s at Bridgeport Speedway Saturday July 3, 2004.
Allentown PA resident Doug Hoffman added two more notches in the win column this Saturday night as he recorded his 4th and 5th wins of the 2004 season. After winning features on June 26th and June 29th, it’s safe to say he’s on a roll. Neither victory came without a battle, but he survived pressure from Duane Howard and Wade Hendrickson to make it 2 out of three for the night. In both features, he charged through the field, making the most out of the racetrack. Doug Hoffman looks to be a man on a mission this season, proving he’s championship caliber.
The first feature finishing order was; Doug Hoffman, Duane Howard, Jimmy Chester, Kevin Hirthler and Jamie Mills.
The third Big Block Modified Feature finished as follows; Doug Hoffman, Wade Hendrickson, Ricky Elliot, Duane Howard, and Rick Laubach.
Rick Laubach adds another Big Block Modified victory to his resume in the Triple 20’s at Bridgeport Speedway.
In between Doug Hoffman’s twin victories, Rick Laubach from Quakertown PA, earned his own turn in Victory Lane as he collected win number 2 this season and career victory number nine at Bridgeport Speedway. He made a power move for first place on lap 9, taking the lead from Mike Iles. On lap 11, Ricky “The Rocket” Elliott and Wade “The Flying Farmer” Hendrickson raced side by side for second place. Laubach began lapping traffic on lap 15, paving the road to victory for the #93. Rounding out the top five were; Rick Laubach, Ricky Elliott, Mike Iles, Wade Hendrickson, and Troy Ale.
Paul Collins becomes another first time winner Saturday July 3, 2004.
Paul Collins brought home his first Sunoco Sportsman Feature trophy during the 25-Lap race at Bridgeport Speedway. Paul Collins of Laurel, Delaware survived a multi-car wreck that began when Drew Ricco flipped on the 8th lap. Collins held on for the win as he outraced Kevin Collins on the closing laps to secure his first career feature win at Bridgeport Speedway. Kevin Collins finished in 2nd place as John Pursell scored a third place run. Tom Miller took home fourth as Mike Hughes rounded out the top five.
Chip Brown takes home the Jasper Sprint Division win at Bridgeport Speedway.
Chip Brown in the number 22, led early but had his share of challenges in his Jasper Sprint victory on Saturday July 3rd at Bridgeport. Brown, a Pennsville resident held off guys like Jeff Foote and Dave Brown as Foote and Brown and Jon Brennfleck were tangled in a 3 car battle for second place on lap 7. Jeff Foote won the battle for second as he began closing the gap between him and leader Chip Brown on lap 9 of the 25 lap event. Foote would settle for 2nd place as Chip Brown held on for the win. Rounding out third to fifth place was; Jon Brennfleck, Dave Brown, and John Wyers.
