RICKY ELLIOTT SHOWS INVADERS HOW TO GET AROUND BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY IN THE GEORGE WINGATE CLASSIC BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE TUESDAY JUNE 8th

Ricky Elliott had his Big Block Modified dialed in just right for a dominating win against some of the best racers this side of the country. The Seaford, DE resident gave no other competitor a chance at the lead throughout the entire 40 laps. His victory proved to a packed house that the hometown heroes of Bridgeport Speedway know how to win races. Rick Laubach, Bridgeport’s most recent Big Block Modified Feature Winner finished in the top ten and Billy “The Kid” Pauch showed the crowd why he’s one of the best drivers to ever hit the dirt when he collected a second place finish. Steve Bottcher’s night turned ugly as he was forced into the infield with mechanical problems on lap 7. Bridgeport regulars Mike Iles and Wade “The Flying Farmer” Hendrickson both struggled all night with Iles having a right rear flat on lap29 and Hendrickson spinning out on lap 34. It looked like Pauch might have had something for Elliott with a late race charge as he used the inside line to take over 20 spots by lap 13. Time ran out for Pauch but he still faired better than some of the other talented visitors. Brett Hearn was out early on lap 9 while “Mr. Excitement” Kenny Brightbill ,Jeff Strunk, and Rich Tobias ran towards the back for most of the event. The top five finishers in the R.E.Pierson Big Block Modified division were; Ricky Elliott, Billy Pauch, Tim McCreadie, Frank Cozze, and Keith Hoffman.

RICHIE “LAST LAP” PRATT BREAKS BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY ALL TIME SPORTSMAN DIVISION RECORD WITH WIN NUMBER 29 ON JUNE 8th.

Richie Pratt Jr did it again this past Tuesday night as he recorded his record-breaking 29th win at Bridgeport Speedway. Early leader Larry Kline seemed to have the race all but wrapped up as he led up until the very last lap. Earning his nickname once again, Richie looked to the outside of turns 3 and 4 to pave his way across the finish line, just inches in front of Kline. Further back in the field, Drew Ricco and Jack Swain raced neck to neck for the third position. Mike Hughes had a strong run off the green but had trouble on lap 8, crushing his hopes for a top five finish. The Sunoco Sportsman Division has hosted many last-lap cliffhangers, with most of those finishes compliments of Richie Pratt Jr. Rounding out the top
five for June 8th’s R.E. Pierson sponsored Sportsman event was Larry Kling in second, Drew Ricco took home third, Jack Swain came in 4th and Mario Page finished with an impressive 5th place run.

Jimmy Chester said it all when he told the packed Bridgeport crowd how his luck had changed this past Tuesday as he led every lap of the 5 lap-dash-for- the-pole event. Suffering from mechanical problems and a round of bad luck, Jimmy was glad to pick up the win. Chester went home with $300 extra and proudly started on the pole for the George Wingate Classic Big Block Modified feature. Chester was followed by Ricky Elliott, Steve Bottcher, Frank Cozze, and Mike Franz.
