Earl wins second event for Pro Stocks this week

BROCKVILLE-It has been a good week for Brockville’s Randy Earl. Earl followed up a win on Tuesday night with another triumph on Friday night at Brockville Ontario Speedway.

Earl had to work for the victory as he battled for lap after lap with Brockville’s Dave Marshall. Marshall finally slid a little high going through turns 1 and 2 on lap 12 allowing Earl to cruise by on the inside and pull out his second win in three days. Kingston’s Jim Vallier ran a solid race to finish third.

Dale Planck of Homer, N.Y. made his early charge through the field and then survived restart after restart to record his second Modified feature win of the year. Points leader Lee Gill of LeFargeville, NY continued his string of fine finishing working his way from 16 starting position to finish second at the checkered flag. Rookie Modified pilot Ron Evoy of Brockville started on the pole and ended up with his first top 3 finish.

Ben Tucker of Redwood, NY continues to be the dominant car in the Sportsman division. Tucker spun his car battling for the lead in the early going but recovered to pass teenager Kyle Wilson of Joyceville in the last half of the race for yet another victory. Wilson was second followed by Adam Moore of Elgin.

Lyn’s Dave Wilgosh captured his second Novice feature of the year as he was repeatedly able to pull away on the numerous restarts after caution flags. Terry McCullough of Kingston was second followed by Todd Raabe of Pembroke.

The next event at Brockville Ontario Speedway will be Fan Appreciation night on Friday, July 7th followed on Sunday, July 9th at 2 p.m. by the 200 lap enduro race that was rained out on Father’s Day.
