H. J. Bunting and Craig Mullins came into tonight's events with only 4 pts separating the leader Mullins. Bunting won his heat, and Mullins was second in his heat. At the start of the feature only one point was between them. At the end of the 1st heat as Bunting took the checkered something broke and he went off turn 1. Bunting was forced to use his back up car and had to start dead last. Bunting was supreme and relished to 5th place, a great job by Bunting. Craig powered his only second time to the track and new TEO, Pat Morrison, Jungle Jim Carburetor, from eight to take the lead on lap 6 from N. Short and leave a trail of smokin "You Can't Touch This" for the remaining field. So with the win Craig Mullins unofficially wins the 2004 Delaware International Modified Championship.
Scott Smith, Dana Walker and Deron Rust tangled on the start to bring out the first caution. Smith did not restart and Walker struggled a couple more laps to not be powered up to compete. At half-way it was Mullins, Short, Wilkins, Johnson, and Foskey. Lap 15 Wilkins took 2nd followed with Johnson taking 3rd. On lap 17, Elliott took 4th from Short, and Bunting powers by Short for 5th.
