WIN AT FROGTOWN

HOGANSBURG, NY ... On a night where the Frogtown International Speedway family carried a heavy heart after once again within a one week period of time losing yet another popular driver to an auto related accident, some of the best racing of the season emerged on a very special Saturday night.

The DIRT Pro Stock division took center stage on this night as the Empire Sports Network DIRT Series made its stop at Frogtown featuring the best of the best in DIRT Pro Stock racing from around the circuit.

Twenty-six Pro Stocks were called to the starting grid with Mark Therrien and Jeremy Clark starting on the front row of the star filled field with Clark grabbing the early lead but the Fulton Speedway regular did not stay there for long as on lap #3, Frogtown Speedway regular PJ Peters moved up quickly from his 4th starting spot and grabbed the lead. Back behind the leaders Dave Bissonnette, making his return to racing in Ron Morin's car #16, and Roy Delormier had moved quickly into the 2nd and 3rd positions and began to put the heat on the Frogtown Speedway's points leader. On Lap #14, Bissonnette found an opening and was able to get by Peters for the lead. Roy Delormier continued to run third with Jeremy Clark and Buddy Hencke rounding out the top five with twenty-one laps still to go. Bissonnette started to get into traffic on lap #20 and tried to put some slower cars between he and the speedy cars of Peters and Delormier but the two Frogtown regulars were not about to let that happen as they stuck to the leader like glue going through the traffic. On Lap #28, Peters saw an opening and seized the opportunity and retook the lead from Bissonnette. Buddy Hencke was making a great run and had moved into third spot but on lap #33, the great run for the top spot by the invader came to a halt as he exited to the pits with problems.

Both Bissonnette and Delormier tried everything they could to catch PJ but it was all for naught as PJ continued on for the biggest win of his Pro Stock carrier. Dave Bissonnette finished second with Roy Delormier finishing third. The biggest run of the night came from Cornwall Speedway regular Joey Ladouceur who started 24th in the field of 26 and finished 4th. Jody Swamp had a fine run as well after he started 13th on the starting grid and ended up 5th.

In the 2nd running of the Legend and Spirits 25 for the DIRT 358 Modifieds, popular Dale Planck of Cortland, New York was able to just barely hold off teammate John Lazore for the win.

Patrick Dupree and Lazore started on the front row with Lazore taking the lead at the drop of the green. Dale Planck wasted no time in coming from his 7th starting position to move into 2nd on lap #5 followed by Mike Perrotte, 2003 Track Champion Jeff Sykes and Fort Covington's Jeff Marshall. Both Lazore and Planck set a torrid pace throughout the race with Planck doing everything he could to get by his teammate. On lap #20, Planck finally got the opportunity he had been waiting for to take the lead and wasted no time getting past John to take over first. But Lazore stayed right on the back bumper of Planck but Dale was just too quick and went on for the victory. John Lazore finished second with Dave Heaslip coming all the way from his 15th starting spot and Mark Hitchcock coming from the 18th starting spot to finish 3rd and 4th respectively. Mike Perrotte rounded out the top five after having a very competitive run for the lead with Lazore and Planck early on in the race.

In the Legends and Spirits 15 lap Semi Pro feature, Carey Terrance of Akwesasne held off fellow Akwesasne competitor Dion Oakes for the win.

Jack Johnson grabbed up the early lead from his #2 starting spot but it was short lived as Terrance who started 7th in the field came storming up through to take the lead. Terrance continued to lengthen his lead over the rest of the field and finished the race 3 car lengths in front of Dion Oakes at the finish. Chad Vallance finished third as newcomer Michael Robert came from his 13th starting spot to finish 4th. Brandon Snyder rounded out the top five.

In the Bandit feature, Billy "Woo Woo" Woodward once again continued his winning ways at "The Frog".

Bob Ray grabbed the early lead and held it for the first seven laps. Woodward who started 11th on the starting grid came flying up through the field and after a short battle with Ray, grabbed the lead for good and went on for the victory. Bob Ray held on for second with Adam Caldwell, Stewart Mossow and Trevor White rounding out the top five.

The Enduro class at Frogtown took to the race track with a heavy heart as current points leader Garrett White would be missing from the starting grid. The popular Enduro driver was tragically killed in an auto related accident on Route 37 last Friday night early Saturday morning. During the intermission, White, who's final resting place is on his mother's land across the road from the race track he loved so much, was memorialized by family, fans, friends and the Frogtown International Speedway in general. Garrett's twin brother Bennett took the 68G around the race track 10 laps in its final ceremonial race. The Frogtown fans cheered as Track Announcer Jamie Davis read off some of the memories the family and he himself had of Garrett White. Lined up on the front stretch were all of his competitors with their cars watching every lap and with the rest of the Frogtown Speedway, remembered all the good times and great racing Garrett gave us all.

His closest competitor and arch rival, "The Rock" Rock Niles, avoided many incidents in front of him throughout the race to take the win. Donald Delormier finished second with Andy Snyder, Matt Langdon and Rory Fish rounding out the top five.

Next Saturday night it will be Kanienkahaka Fuels night at the speedway with the 7th running of the Kanienkahaka Fuels 25 for the DIRT 358 Modifieds being the man event of the evening. The DIRT Pro Stocks, Semi Pros, Bandits and Enduros will be on the card as well.
