KYLE JACOBS, MITCHELL JOCK, STEVEN BRAND, BILLY WOOWARD, JR. AND LEON DELORMIER VISIT FROGTOWN VICTORY LANE

HOGANSBURG, NY - Kyle Jacobs of Akwesasne made one of the biggest runs of the season coming from the 15th starting position to win the Pecore's Performance / Swamp's Performance / Dave's Barber Shop / Smiths Lumber 25 lap main event for the DIRT 358 Modifieds this past Saturday night at the Frogtown International Speedway.

Craig Reyell and Delbert LeGrow started on the front row of the event with LeGrow grabbing the lead. But it was short lived as George "Boomer" McIntyre came flying up from his #3 starting spot and grabbed the lead followed closely by Dan Jalbert, George Foley, Delbert LeGrow and Mike Arquiett. Both McIntyre and Jalbert battle hard for the lead with Jalbert looking a little faster in the corners but McIntyre looking much quicker on the straight-aways. On lap #14, Jalbert finally got by "Boomer" for the lead. Back further in the field, Perry Francis who started 14th in the field was beginning to make his run to the top along with Leon Gonyo who had the most spectacular run of the season starting in the 22nd starting spot (DEAD LAST) and already had worked his way into the top 10 by the halfway mark of the race.

Kyle Jacobs began his run for the lead as well at this point as the three brought the Frogtown faithful to their feet cheering wildly. Jacobs appeared to be the quickest of the three and the best chance to catch Jalbert who was looking for his first win ever in a 358 DIRT Modified at Frogtown. When Jacobs caught Jalbert, the battle was on but Kyle had his car hooked up perfectly and got by Jalbert with five laps to go and continued on for the win. Dan Jalbert settled for second with "Boomer" McIntyre, having things finally go his way, getting up for third. Perry Francis with his nice run finished 4th with Leon Gonyo after starting 22nd in the field rounding out the top five.

In the DIRT Pro Stock division, Mitchell Jock bested a star studded field of Frogtown Pro Stocks to win the third leg of the Coors Light Pro Stock Super Series.

Joel Herne and Tim Allen started up front with Herne grabbing the early lead. PJ Peters who started 7th in the field and Jock who started 9th in the field didn't waste anytime in getting to the front. By lap #6 both Jock and Peters found themselves running #1 and #2 with Roy Delormier and Clayton Benedict moving up quickly as well to complete the four car "freight train" that put on a great show for the fans. Both Peters and Jock were very fast and began to pull away from the rest of the field. As the two came off from turn #4 on the final lap, Peters saw an opening and pulled along side of Jock and it was a drag race to the finish line with Mitchell Jock prevailing by just a few feet in front of PJ Peters who had to settle for second. Clayton Benedict, Roy Delormier and the always consistent Jody Swamp rounded out the top five.

In the Semi Pro division, Steven Brand who started 12th in the field and Mike Allen who started 13th in the field were the two fastest cars on the race track as the two battled there way up through the field to find themselves first and second by lap #8 of the feature they were followed closely by Greg Ezard and track points leader Carey Terrance and Dion Oakes. The five cars staged a torrid battle for the top spot with Brand barely holding off Mike Allen for the win. Allen settled for second with Greg Ezard, Carey Terrance and Dion Oakes rounding out the top five.

In the Bandit Division, Billy "Woo Woo" Woodward, Jr. continues to be a dominant figure in the Bandit division at Frogtown winning yet another feature at "The Frog". Woodward made note after though that it was obvious to him that he had to really work for this one as Bob Ray and Ernie Cree stayed close to, but not quite able to overtake the speedy Woodward. Billy hung on for the win with Bob Ray, Ernie Cree, David Page and Trevor White who not only finished 5th but came back after an electrical fire in the car in the qualifying heat and had time to come out at intermission and sign autographs for the fans.

In one of the most exciting Enduro features of the season somebody other than Garrett White and "The Rock" Rock Niles finally graced the Mohawk Bingo Palace Victory Lane as the latter having dominated the class in 2004. But not on this night as Leon Delormier who is currently in 51st, that’s right I said 51st place in the points came home with the win much to the delight of the Frogtown fans. Delormier made all the right moves to take the win. Matt Langdon finished second with Donald Delormier, Nicholas Mackie and Bennett White rounding out the top five.

Saturday night August 14th the Speedway will be closed but will come back August 21st with yet another big show that will feature the DIRT Pro Stocks taking center stage as the Empire Sports Network DIRT Pro Stock series makes its stop at the speedway. Some of the top names in DIRT Pro Stock racing will be on hand for the event that will also feature a regular card of racing for the DIRT 358 Modifieds, Semi Pros, Bandits and a 20 lap $100.00 to win Enduro feature. All the action this evening will be sponsored by one of Akwesasne's favorite businesses Legends and Spirits Tavern, Banquet Hall and Pizzeria.

Pit gates open at 5:00 p.m. with the main grandstand gates opening at 6:00 p.m. The first race is set to get underway at 7:00 p.m. sharp. For more information visit us on the World Wide Web at www.frogtownspeedway.net. SEE YOU AT THE FROG!
