TIM FULLER SCORES THUNDER ALLEY WIN
EVANS MILLS, NY.....Tim Fuller made his return to Caprara's Thunder Alley Speedpark an enjoyable one as he captured the win in the 30-lap DIRT Modified feature on G & R Auto Parts Night. Chad Phelps got another win in the Sportsman division, with Sean Lias in victory lane for the IMCA Modifieds and Dan Hoffman netting the Pure Stock win.
Ryan Bartlett held the early lead in the DIRT Modified feature, but Fuller rim rode his way to the top by the one third mark. Behind him, Tim McCreadie was also using the outside lane on a surface that was fast, tacky, and developed a huge cushion following an early evening shower.
McCreadie's charge was halted when he had mechianical problems with less than ten laps to go. Steve Paine trailed Fuller at the finish, followed by Vic Coffey, who recovered from an early race miscue to charge back to third. Bartlett and Jeff Brownell rounded out the top five.
The 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature saw Chad Phelps get out front early and go the distance to take the feature win. Scott Parliament made some daring moves to get to second but could not run down Phelps at the finish. Jessica Zemken, Jack Meeks, and Jim Kite rounded out the top five.
The 20-lap IMCA feature came down to a two car battle between Sean Lias and Dale Caswell, with Lias making some key moves in lapped traffic in the final two laps to hold on for another win. Mark Webb, George Valenti, and Tom Conklin trailed the lead duo at the finish.
The 15-lap Pure Stock feature saw Dan Hoffman lead wire to wire in a non-stop event. Dave Mannise took the runnerup spot while Travis Andrews held off Fran Bryant and Steve Woodworth for third.
The Junior Modified Lite feature was won by Taylor Caprara.
Thundercar winners on Thursday night included Josh Vern (4 Cyl. Master), Will Gates (4 Cyl. Amateur), Jack Jones (4 Cyl. Foreign), Rush Walts (6 Cyl. and Thundertruck) and Brian Holder (8 Cyl.).
Racing action returns to Thunder Alley on July 8th as Caprara's Outdoor World presents the 'Firecracker 50' for DIRT Sportsman, paying $1,500 to the winner. IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, and Junior Modified Lites will also join in, along with Thundercars, Thundertrucks, and the return of Figure 8 racing. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
