May 7th - Ken Buck Memorial - Reg. Show - Redline Raceway
358 Modifieds: # 123 Dale Welty, #m16 Mike Schane, # 35 Don Hart Jr. # 1 Stacy Jackson, #18 Donnie Lawson. For me personally, This was the best 358 modified race i have seen in a very long time. The Matthews Family & crew really had the track in the best of shape for the feature. This class along with all the others had a exceptionally fast track for racing, with alot of door to door & 3 wide in the corners racing.
Street Stocks: #15 Eddie Sites, #61 Brad Butcher, # 83-2 J. T. McKernan, #11 Eric Matthews, # 66 Darin Horton #15 sites had his work cut out for him with #61 Butcher, & #83-2 J.T. Mc Kernan in the lead battling for first place. But, as luck would have it an Sites being at the right place at the right time, he took the lead an the win. Matthews came from the rear of the field an took 4th, an #66 Darin had a great run with his new set-up on the car.
Pure Stocks: # 89 Frankie Chapman, # m13 Ernie Martin, # 99 Bobby Butcher, # 08 Rich Talada, # 34 Rich Sharpsteen. Chapman received his 2nd win in a row this week, but not without a battle at first with Ernie Martin, once Chapman got around him, he had a good lead. Butcher & Talada battled a nice door to door race to the end, with Sharpsteen who had his share of problems an still came out at the end with a 5th place finish.
Mini's: #14 Eric Ellsworth, #9cat Don Potter, # 80 Ray Hyer, # 5 Taylor Avery, #89g Lori Bishop. Ellsworth started on the pole which in this race was a great place to be. Potter had his hand full of a couple cars but with patients he prevailed, an the rest of the Field kinda fell into place.
IMCA'S: #Z8 Steve Hartman Jr., #X Larry Robbins, #15 Dan Gardener, #3 Bill Faughnan, #27Don Cole. For the second week in a row the #z8 Steve Hartman Jr. has won with his fast moving machine through the field of others. This was a very fast an smooth feature for the ending of the good nights race.
A hugh thank you goes out to the Amb. crew an Troy fire dept. for being at the track every week to asst if needed!
