JOHNSON PICKS HIS WAY THROUGH FIELD FOR WIN ON PICK-N-PULL AUTO PARTS NIGHT
FULTON, NY...Alan Johnson returned to the winners circle last Saturday night at Fulton Speedway. Johnson's fifth DIRT 358 Modified win of the season at the Home of the Victoria 200 came on Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts Night. Johnson worked his way masterfully from the 17th starting position and earned the $1,500 payday.
Roy Shields raced out to the early lead at the start of the Pick-N-Pull Auto Parts DIRT 358 Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. Shields would lead the opening four laps of the main event. Gordy Button took the lead away from Shields on lap five. Button was looking for his second straight win and was running strong onve again.
Button would lead the field through lap eight. Tim Fuller took the top spot away from Button on lap nine. With ten laps complete Fuller continued to lead and was being followed in the top five by Button, Matt Sheppard, Alan Johnson and Jimmy Phelps. Sheppard took the lead away Fuller on lap 13.
Fuller regained the top spot from Sheppard just one circuit later. At the halfway point Fuller was followed in the top five by Johnson, Sheppard, Phelps and Justin Haers. The final half of the event turned into a three car battle for the win bewteen Johnson, Fuller and Sheppard.
The leaders raced for the lead both in and out of lapped traffic. Johnson took the official lead in the race on lap 19. As it turned out he would lead the rest of the distance and claim the feature win. Fuller had to settle for second with Sheppard third. Jeff Rudalavage made a late race charge to finish fourth while Phelps completed the top five.
Ryan Richardson won his first ever DIRT Sportsman feature race at Fulton Speedway last Saturday night. Tim Sears, Jim Kite, John Juhl and Jim Bowman completed the top five feature finishers behind Richardson. On lap 12 Richardson took the top spot away from Bowman and he would lead the rest of the way.
Jeremy Clark claimed the win in the DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Lee Burnett, T.J. Fitzgibbons, Ricky Breed and Jason Rood followed Clark across the finish line. It was Clark's fifth win of the season. Clark took the lead away from Breed on lap eight and led the rest of the distance in the 15-lap event.
Phil Marsden won his seventh Pure Stock feature race last Saturday night. Todd Koegel, Chris Cunningham, Steve Woodworth and Howie Koegel completed the top five finishers behind Marsden. On lap three Marsden took the lead away from Woodworth and would lead the rest of the 15-lap affair.
Rodney Buske was the winner of the 25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro feature. Raymond Wilson, Terry Engebretsen, Jay McGillicuddy and Ron Hall finished second through fifth respectively in the 25-car event.
Racing will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the Empire Super Sprints joining the DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks in an action packed show.
