JOHNSON WINS SECOND STRAIGHT AT FULTON SPEEDWAY IN BUDWEISER DIRT 358 MODIFIED FEATURE

FULTON, NY...It appears that Alan Johnson is on a hot string. Johnson won his second straight DIRT 358 Modified feature at Fulton Speedway last Saturday on Budweiser Beer Night. The eventual winner came from the 16th starting position to the lead in just 24 caution free laps. The win for the driver of the Bicknell Racing Products DIRT 358 Modified feature was worth $1,500. Johnson also won the DIRT Big Block Modified feature at Brewerton Speedway last Friday night.

Rick Miller raced out to the early lead at the start of the Budweiser DIRT 358 Modified feature from the pole starting position. Miller led the opening two circuits. Ron White took the top spot away from Miller on lap three. After five laps White was being followed in the top five by Don Spatarico, Miller, J.J. Michaels and Jimmy Phelps. Spatarico became the third different leader of the event on lap eight.

On lap 10 the lead changed hands again with Phelps now leading the quality field. Phelps wasted no time in moving from the 11th starting position. At the halfway point of the 35-lap affair Phelps continued to lead with Johnson now all the way up to second. Tom Sears Jr., Matt Sheppard and Spatarico completed the top five at this time. Racing in positions sixth through tenth at the halfway mark in order included Michaels, Jeff Rudalavage, Jeremy Smith, Tim Fuller and John Barker.

It was on lap 24 when Johnson took the top spot away from Phelps. Johnson came from the 16th starting position to the lead in that time without the help of a caution period. Tom Juhl brought out the only caution period of the race on lap 26 when he lost power on the track. In the closing laps Johnson had everything under control on the way to his second straight win at the Home of the Victoria 200.

Phelps had to settle for second while Sheppard continued his string of top finishes with a third. Sears and Rudalavage completed the top five feature finishers. Barker, Spatarico, Ryan Baye, Justin Haers and Jim Mahaney crossed the finish line in positions sixth through tenth respectively.

Daryl Hagen won his first ever DIRT Sportsman feature race last Saturday night. Hagen was followed by Donnie Wetmore Jr., Ron Loveless, Mike Button and Shane Donath. Hagen led the entire 20-lap distance in the caution free main event.

Jeremy Clark won his third DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday Night. Clark was followed on this occasion by Scott Moyer, Lee Burnett, T.J. Fitzgibbons and Dave Bruno. Clark took the lead away from Jack Terrell on lap seven and went on to the win in the 20-lap event.

Phil Marsden also became a three time feature winner in the Pure Stock division with his win last Saturday night. Marsden was the winner over Todd Koegel, Darren Kelso, Russ Marsden and Bruce Stanton. Marsden took the lead away from Koegel on lap 12 and won in a close finish in the 15-lap event.

Loren Parker was the winner of the 29-car Four Cylinder Enduro event. Rodney Buskey, Jay McGillicuddy, Dan Hoffman Jr. and Sam Carista finished in positions second through fifth.
