FULLER FLIES TO FIRST WIN OF SEASON AT FULTON ON JE PISTONS NIGHT

FULTON,NY...Tim Fuller came flying from the 12th starting position to the lead in just five laps on his way to the JE Pistons DIRT 358 Modified feature win last Saturday night at Fulton Speedway. It was Fuller's first win of the season at the home of the Victoria 200. The win for the Edwards, N.Y. driver in the B&F General Machine DIRT 358 Modified was worth $1,500 in the 35-lap event.

Russell Hendrickson raced out to the early lead of the JE Pistons DIRT 358 Modified feature from the pole starting position. Dave Reilley took the lead away from Hendrickson on lap two. J.J. Michaels took the lead away from Reilley on the third circuit. Fuller became the fourth leader of the race on lap five.

Fuller wasted no time in moving up from his 12th starting position, but he wasn't the only one moving up fast. Alan Johnson started 16th and after 10 laps he was all the way up to second. After ten laps Fuller and Johnson were being followed in the top ten by Michaels, John Ventura, Jeremy Smith, Matt Sheppard, Tom Sears, Reilley, Todd Burely and Jeff Rudalavage.

Several long green flag peiods found Fuller and Johnson working in and out of lapped traffic. Fuller continued to hold the upper hand over Johnson and the rest of the field. It was Fuller's first win of the season. Johnson had to settle for second with Sheppard, Burley and Sears completing the top five finishers in the very competitive field. Phelps, Jim Mahaney, Smith, Michaels and John Barker finished in positions sixth through tenth respectively.

Tim Sears won his first DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday night. Sears was followed across the finish line by Jamie Christian, Steve Way, Greg Doust and Shane Donath. Donnie Wetmore Jr. led the first five laps of the main event. Christian took over the top spot on lap six and would lead until lap 14. Sears took charge on lap 15 and led the rest of the way in the 20 lap affair.

Tom Barron won his second DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Barron was followed across the finish line by Jeremy Clark, Dave Bissonnette, Lee Burnett and Jason Rood. Jack Terrell led the first three laps of the main event. Bissonnette took command of the field on lap five and he would hold it until lap 15. Barron took the lead away on lap 16 and went on to the win in the 20-lap event.

Russ Marsden won his first Pure Stock feature of the 2002 season last Saturday night. Bruce Stanton, Kris Cunningham, Darren Kelso and Phil Marsden completed the top five feature finishers behind Rusty Marsden. Todd Koegel led the first two laps of the feature. Paul Mercier led the field on lap three through eight. Rusty Marsden took the lead away from Mercier on lap nine and he went on to the win.

Terry Engebretser claimed the win in the Four Cylinder Enduro feature. Mick Rounds, Jay McGillicuddy, Rodney Buske and Terry Scheier completed the top five finishers in the 20 car field.
