JOHNSON WINS THIRD STRAIGHT DIRT 358 MODIFIED FEATURE

AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON COORS LIGHT NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Alan Johnson continued his late season mastery of Fulton Speedway last Saturday on Coors Light Night. Johnson won his third straight DIRT 358 Modified feature in the Mike Maroney owned car. The defending DIRT 358 Modified Track Champion kept his title hopes alive with the hard fought win over Matt Sheppard. Johnson earned $1,500 for his fourth victory of the season at the home of the Victoria 200.

Mark Yorker raced out to the early lead at the start of the DIRT 358 Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. Yorker would only lead the opening circuit of the main event. Jim Crawn took the top spot away from Yorker on lap two. Crawn would lead the field through lap six. It was on lap seven when Jeff Rudalavage took the lead away from his fellow driver from Pennsylvania.

Once in front Rudalavage attempted to run away and hide. But, that didn't happen as several drivers caught the Parts Plus DIRT 358 Modified. Tom Sears Jr. took the lead away from Rudalavage on lap 15. Sears got a late start this season at Fulton Speedway, but that hasn't slowed him down. At the halfway point of the main event Sears was being followed by Johnson, Rudalavage, Sheppard and Ryan Baye.

Johnson was finally able to slip underneath Sears on lap 20, after several circuits of trying to do so. Sheppard moved into second spot on lap 24. During the final 11 laps Sheppard was able to stay with Johnson, but unable to get by. Johnson recorded the win over Sheppard, Baye, Sears and Jimmy Phelps. Rudalavage, John Barker, Crawn, John Ramsey and Tim Burnett completed the top five feature finishers.

Tim Sears won his eighth DIRT Sportsman feature race of the race season last Saturday night. Sears was followed across the finish line by Greg Doust, Willy Decker, Craig Terrell and Gordy Button. Dan Vail led the opening three laps of the feature before Terrell took over on lap four. Sears took the top spot away from Terrell on lap 13 and went on for the win in the 20 lap event.

John Pietrowicz won his fifth DIRT Pro Stock feature of the season last Saturday night. Pietrowicz won out over Jeremy Clark, Tom Barron, T.J. Fitzgibbons and Jason Rood. Rood led the opening eight laps of the 20 circuit feature race. Pietrowicz took the lead away from Rood on lap nine and led the rest of the distance.

Pietrowicz was also the winner of the 15 lap Pure Stock finale. Jeff Pastorella, Bruce Stanton, John Morrison and Paul Mercier completed the top five finishers behind Pietrowicz. Bill Allen led the opening three laps of the main event. Stanton led the fourth circuit. Pietrowicz took over on lap five and led the rest of the way.
