John Guernsey of Port Crane won his first Modified feature of the year last Saturday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Guernsey took the lead on the third lap from pole sitter George Hoffmier Jr. and led the rest of the the thirty lap distance. Mike Colsten pressure Hoffmier for the runner-up spot but had to settle for third at the end. Mitch Gibbs wound up fourth while J. R. Hurlburt came home fifth. Other winners included Ron Flannery for his twelfth win in the Street Stocks. Bob Mills in a bizarre Pure Stock event. Harold Humphrey in the Four Cylinder Stocks, Lee Dewitt in the Four Cylinder Stocks, Dale Pitcher in the Mini-Sprints, Owen Beavers in the Amateurs and in a real bizarre ending Cliff Pierce scored the win the the Dwarf Car feature as Ken Titus, who'd led from lap one flipped while still in the lead after hitting the wall on the homestretch and landing approximately three feet from the start-finish line. Had he flipped another half roll he would have won the event. Next week all eight classes will be in action starting at 6:00 p.m.
