MAYBERRY, TEETS AND DISSINGER WIN SATURDAY NIGHT FEATURES

BECHTELSVILLE, PA APRIL 17, 1999 . . . It was a repeat of

the season opener for Tom Mayberry and Jeff Teets at

Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. On a night better

suited for eskimos, Mayberry, a former track champion,

wheeled the Mike Kelly owned, A&T Chevrolet/Golden Corral

Restaurant sponsored entry to victory. The win, the second of

the season for Mayberry, the first coming in the season

opener, came in the 30-lap NASCAR Winston Racing Series

Modified feature.

In the companion feature for NASCAR Late Models Jeff

Teets, who also won on opening night, drove his Harry's U-

Pull It Auto Parts entry to victory in the 20-lap main event.

And in the PA Sportsman 15-lap feature Dave Dissinger drove

his Oak Hill Farms mount to his second straight feature win.

Ken Lindaberry set the pace at the start of the 30-lap

modified feature with Dennis Bailey getting in front of the

pack on the second circuit of the one-third-mile, banked clay

oval. The first caution came on the 16th lap when John

Willman and Kenny Gruber tangled. On the restart Bailey and

Tom Mayberry "kissed" in the second turn, both got a little

sideways, and Mayberry grabbed the front spot. At 20-laps

Mayberry had a comfortable lead and went on to win the

feature with Bailey and his Berks Products sponsored mount

following close behind.

For his efforts in winning his 22nd career feature at

Grandview Speedway the Sellersville, PA racer earned $2,200.

Dennis Bailey (Kutztown) finished second while Terry Meitzler

(Kutztown) finished third. Kerry Kratz (Bechtelsville) was

fourth followed by Kevin Hartnett (Perkasie).

The 20-lap feature for Late Models had Kyle Pensinger in

front at the drop of the green. Casey Ebright, away from the

sport for a couple of seasons, showed he had not lost the

touch and took charge on the second lap. On the seventh

circuit Ebright spun while leading and Jeff Teets, who had

been charging up through the field, took the top spot. Once

in front Teets had his hands full holding off Dean Stoudt to

win the feature event, his second of the season. The Coplay

racer was just a few feet in front of Stoudt (East

Greenville). Third place was earned by Rick Todorow

(Quakertown) followed by Junior Grebe (Boyertown) and Sam

Schlosberg (Pottstown).

And it was Dave Dissinger (Mohrsville) taking the top

spot at the drop of the green flag and leading all 15 laps to

get his second win of the season with the PA Sportsman. Ryan

Beltz earned an impressive second place finish while Tom

Umbenhauer put on an exciting display of high groove racing

to finish third.

Again more than 100 race cars filled the competition

area on a night that saw a little rain, bone chilling cold

and high winds. Qualifying heat wins for the NASCAR modifieds

went to Bill Gensler, Jon Kellner, Tom Mayberry, Dennis

Bailey and Terry Meitzler. The consolation races were won by

John Willman, Craig VonDohren and Jeff Strunk. The Cash Dash

worth $335 went to Jon Kellner.

Preliminary qualifying events for the late models were

won by Kyle Pensinger, Jeff Teets and Junior Grebe while the

consolation race went to Randy Stoudt.

And in the heat races for PA Sportsman the victories

were earned by Dissinger and Greg Wadsworth.
