KYLE JACOBS, MITCHELL JOCK, GREG SNYDER, KEVIN MERE AND OWEN WHITE TAKE FROGTOWN TOP HONORS

Hogansburg, NY ... A home town favorite finally made his way back to the winners circle this past Saturday night at Frogtown International Speedway much to the delight of many race fans. Akwesasne's Kyle Jacobs showed everyone that patience and a lot of hard work finally gives way to big rewards.

Craig Ormsby and Mike Reyell started on the front row of the St. Lawrence Centre Mall / Valley Paper Company 25 lap Modified main event. Mike Reyell grabbed the early lead and led the race for the first five laps until the caution came out on lap #5 for the #74 of Doug Fuller as he slowed to a stop on the backstretch.

Dave Heaslip, coming up through from his 6th starting spot grabbed the lead from Reyell on the restart followed closely by Kyle Jacobs, Mark Hitchcock and a determined Ben Tucker. Heaslip maintained his lead through lap #14 when Kingston, Ontario's Mark Hitchcock saw an opening and was able to get by the long time veteran to grab the lead. Back in third and fourth, Mike Perrotte and Kyle Jacobs were having a great battle. Perrotte and Jacobs were both able to get by Mark Hitchcock in lap #17 with Perrotte moving into 2nd and Jacobs 3rd. The leaders started to get into lapped traffic on lap #19. Dave Heaslip got past three of the slower cars without a problem but second place runner, Mike Perrotte, did not fair as well as he and the #8 of Tom Gonyo came together in turn #2 bringing out the caution.

On the restart, Heaslip grabbed the lead with Kyle Jacobs right on Heaslip's back bumper. On the final lap, Jacobs made a veteran racing move to get around the outside of Heaslip and for the second week in a row, the main event ends in a thriller as Jacobs got by the long time veteran racer to win. Mark Hitchcock held on for third with last week's feature winner, Chris Jones, finishing fourth with a great run from his 15th starting position and Brian McDonald who started scratch in the field finishing fifth.

In the DIRT Pro Stock division, Mitchell Jock made it two in a row at the speedway winning his second in as many weeks. Jody Swamp and Jock started on the front row of the event with Jock grabbing the early lead but it was short lived as Dave Bissonnette came from his 3rd starting spot to grab the lead. A three car torrid battle for the lead took place between Bissonnette, Jock and Swamp that had the crowd on their feet throughout the race.

On lap #16, Mitchell Jock was able to slide under Bissonnette to grab the lead and go on for the win. Dave Bissonnette finished second with Jody Swamp, Scott Kocher and Louie Jackson rounding out the top five.

In the exciting Semi Pro division, a field of 21 cars took the green with Jeff Marshall grabbing the early lead until lap #7 when Greg Snyder got by and took the lead. Steven Brand, who started 7th in the field, worked his way up to second but was unable to catch the speedy Snyder as Greg went on for the win. Steven Brand finished second with Dick Planty getting up for third. Jeff Marshall who was involved in a mid-race accident came all the way from the back to finish fourth and new comer, Peter Strapper, finished an impressive fifth.

In the fast paced Bandit division, hard work on a race car during the week paid off as Kevin Mere was able to correct a fuel problem and find a lot more horse power. Ron Tyo grabbed the early lead only to have Kevin Mere take the lead on lap #3. Mere was able to hold the lead until lap #5 when Jeb Beeson in the #55 grabbed the lead. But Mere fought back and held off a hard charging Danielle Legault for the win. Legault finished second with Jeb Beeson taking third. Kevin Fetterly, Jr. and Scott Mere rounded out the top five.

In the Enduro class, Owen White took his second in a row holding off Tim Webb for the win. Leon Delormier got up for third with Ricky Thompson and Brandon Snyder rounding out the top five.

Next week a regular card of 358 Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Semi Pros, Bandits and Enduros sponsored by two long time supporters of racing, The Bear's Den and JR Fuels, will be highlighted by a great Fireworks display at the end of the program.
