PIERRE DAGENAIS, MARK THERRIEN, DON LEGROW, CURTIS MCPHEE AND STACY BOOTS

CLAIM FROGTOWN HONORS

Hogansburg, NY - Pierre Dagenais of Gatineau, Quebec took home his second 358 Modified feature of the season last Saturday night in convincing fashion in front of the Frogtown faithful. Craig Ormsby and "Gentleman" Billy Cook started on the front row of the main event with Cook grabbing the early lead. Cook took about a 10 car length commanding lead and was about to lap slower cars when the caution came out on lap #9. On the restart, Bill Cook, Dave Heaslip, Jeff Sykes and Pierre Dagenais began a torrid battle for the lead. The caution came out yet again with Cook being involved in an incident in front of the grandstand that took away any chance of the long time veteran of getting his first win in a Modified feature in quite some time. Jeff Sykes was also involved in an incident on the front stretch that sent the young star out of Edwards, New York into the wall on the front stretch.

On the third restart of lap #10, racing finally resumed with Dave Heaslip grabing the lead with Mike Perrotte and Pierre Dagenais in pursuit. Dagenais made a big move on the inside to get by Perrotte and then set his sights on the Smith Falls, Ontario speedster Heaslip.

Dagenais made a huge move on the outside of Heaslip in turn #2 to take the lead and went on for the win. Dave Heaslip finished second with Mike Perrotte third, last weeks winner Jim Ryan fourth and Greg Monica getting his best finish of the season finishing fifth.

In the DIRT Pro Stock division, it was Mark Therrien able to hold off a persistent Mike Allen for the victory. Mitchell Jock finished third with Scott Kocher having his best run in a while finishing fourth and Steve Francis rounding out the top five.

In the most exciting feature of the evening, Don LeGrow finally got a win at Frogtown after a long drought. LeGrow who took advantage of a restart with a big move on the outside of Steve Brand who looked like he might get his first at Frogtown throughout the early part of the feature. Brand finished second with Greg Snyder, Mark Smoke and Pete Backus rounding out the top five.

In the Bandits, Trevor McPhee had originally crossed the line first but after officials had reviewed an earlier race restart, Trevor was placed 5th and Curtis McPhee was declared the winner. Team mate Chris Tremblay finished second with Rosco Garreau, Kevin Fetterly, Jr. and Trevor McPhee rounding out the top five.

In the Enduro class, Stacy Boots took advantage of some strange late race incidents to bring home the win in the 25 lap special. Ronnie Thompson finished second with Ryan Phillips, Kevin Mayville and Owen White rounding out the top five.

Next Saturday night it will be Jock Fabrication and #31 Racing Team night as Tom Jock, Jr. and his family will sponsor a regular card of racing at the speedway.

Frogtown International Speedway is located just north of Massena in Hogansburg, NY on Frogtown Road just off Route 37. Pit and grandstand gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:00 p.m. sharp. SEE YOU AT THE FROG!
