CHRIS HERBISON TAKES FIRST EVER MODIFIED WIN AT FROGTOWN

Hogansburg, NY - Chris Herbison of Brockville, Ontario picked a good night to come to Frogtown as he brought home his first ever Frogtown 358 modified feature win on Bombard's Fuel Service and NAPA of Malone night at the speedway.

Herbison who started in the 21st starting spot took advantage of numerous cautions throughout the race to take the lead away from Mike Perrotte on lap #19 an go on for the win.

Pete Roberts, Bill Cook and Mike Perrotte were all leaders in the race at one point or another. Mike Perrotte, Dave Heaslip, Frank Cozze and Kevin Fetterly rounded out the top 5.

Herbison became the third different winner in as many weeks at the speedway in the modified division.

In the DIRT Pro Stock division it was Mark Therrien who took the lead on lap #5 from early race leader Billy "The Kid" King and never looked back.

A couple of restarts brought King closer to the leader but Therrien had the perfect set up and went on for the win. Denis Gauvreau, Jody Swamp and Mike Allen rounded out the top five.

Duane Brainard was showing everybody that patience is a virtue when it comes to winning features at Frogtown as he worked his way up through a very competitive field to bring home his second feature win in a row in the Semi-Pro division.

Brainard who battled with Mark Smoke and Jamie Martin for the lead made all the right moves at the right time for the win. Jamie Martin finished second with Mark Smoke, Tim Allen and Pete Backus rounding out the top five.

In the popular Bandit division, Curtis McPhee of Cornwall, Ontario took the lead from early race leader Tammy Jalbert and fought off repeated challenges from Ron Giroux and Mark Radbourne to bring home yet another feature win at Frogtown. Ron Giroux finished second with Mark Radbourne, Kevin Fetterly, Jr. who seems to be like fine wine and gets better and better with age and Randy Tremblay rounding out the top five.

In the exciting Enduro class the winner was Tim Herne on a last lape thriller.

Next Saturday night it will be Lazore's Consruction night at the speedway with the ever popular dump truck/trailer races and modified autograph night just before the modified feature go. Admission will be $8.00 with St. Lawrence and Jefferson County residence getting in the grandstands for half price.

Pit gates open at 5:00 p.m. with grandstand gates openning at 5:30 p.m.
