FERRIER OVER HINDLEY IN OCFS FIGHT TO THE FINISH

Middletown, NY: It all came down to the final corner Saturday night at the Orange County Fair Speedway. John Ferrier of Middletown, NY held on to outlast Tim Hindley in the Weststar Tech Services 30 lap big block feature to record his 2nd career win. Hindley drew even between turns 3 and 4, but Ferrier, on the inside, had just enough to beat Hindley to the stripe as the pair made contact on the homestretch. After the checkered fell, Ferrier ended up backing his ride into the tire barrier in turn one. Butch Tittle, Ric Hill, and Jerry Higbie completed the top five.

Bobby Hentschel of Pine Bush, NY took over the point lead in the DIRT Sportsman division when he won the 20 lap A Plus Sewer Service feature. Hentshcel took the lead on lap 9 and raced home in front of Alan Sturhann, Tom Perrego, Rich Coons, and Joe Dunay to record his first ever win here. Eric Marin of Carmel, NY won his fifth career Pro Stock feature taking the 20 lap Expert main in a battle with Scott Kehr. Dan Kelleher of Carmel, NY claimed his 2nd 18 lap Rookie feature of the season. l D'Antonio of Highland Lakes, NJ was victorious for the 3rd time in 4 starts in the 12 lap Pure Stock feature.

The first event in the Chet's Garage Demo Derby series was taken by Geraldo Hernandez of Patterson NY.

Next Saturday night finds the Modifieds going 50 laps in their holiday feature. They will be joined by the DIRT Sportsman, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks in a program that begins at 6:00 pm.
