TOM HINDLEY OUTRUNS HEARN IN IMPRESSIVE RUN

Middletown, NY : Brett Hearn had nothing for Fair Oaks, NY 's Tom Hindley in the Saturday night 30 lap Cedar Ridge Trailer Sales big block feature at the Orange County Fair Speedway. Hindley, who started 8th in the field, took the lead on an 8th lap restart. The 17th starting Hearn appeared in 2nd on lap 6, but Hindley fought off the all time winningest driver here over the remaining 25 laps to record his 3rd big block win at Orange County. Rich Eurich, defending champion Chuck McKee and Ric Hill completed the top five.

In 358 modified action, Brett Hearn of Vernon, NJ led wire to wire in the Trailer King Haulmark held over 25 lap feature from opening night. Hearn, who started on the pole, handicapped by heat race results on April 21, ran uncontested to record his 98th small block win at this speedway. Tom Hindley, Tommy Meier, Jerry Higbie and defending champion Andy Bachetti trailed. The LA West Luxury Vehicles 25 lap feature saw Bud Christmann of West Milford, NJ reach victory lane for the first time in 11 years. For Christmann, it was his 10th career win. Donnie Elliott, Tim Hindley, Tom Hindley and Hearn completed the top five.

The 20 lap DIRT Sportsman held their rained out feature from opening night with Scott Ferrier of Middletown, NY picking up the win. It was his 4th career win. Mark Hufcut, Rick Mill, Mike Kolka, and David Van Horn were next across the stripe. The regular event saw Dave Fellman of Port Jervis, NY win for the first time in 5 years and record his 2nd ever trip to victory lane as he led wire to wire. Van Horn, Bill Haley, Bill Johnston, and Bobby Hentschel comprised the balance of the top five. The Expert Pro Stock feature was claimed by Andy Dembek, Jr. for his 2nd win of the season and 24th of his career. The Rookie feature went to Clark Bradford of Greenville, NY for his 2nd win of the season. In a near photo finish, Mitch Frank of Waldwick, NJ edged out Al D'antonio to stop D'Antonio's win streak at three in the Pure Stock class.

Racing resumes this Saturday night at 6:30 pm with the Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks.
