DANNY JOHNSON, KEVIN WILLS, MARK SCHULZ, JEFF SCHULZE, AND KIRK TUTTLE WIN AT RANSOMVILLE
RANSOMVILLE, NY....Danny Johnson made it two for two at the big "R"as he captured the Budweiser 30 lap 358 Modified feature go. Johnson was sporting his new self owned orange 27J for the first time this season at Ransomville. Todd Burley finished in second followed by Todd Burley, Vic Coffey, Pete Bicknell, and Scott Wood.
Burley, Johnson, and Coffey put on a great show for the fans as they rocked and rolled up front in a torrid battle. Burley on the low side, Johnson on the high side and Coffey with a ring side seat in third. Using his patented top groove, Johnson took the lead away from Burley on lap 14 after a side by side battle for two go rounds.
The rest is history as they say as Johnson topped the field for the seventh time in his last nine races. Heat winners were Burley, Scott Wood, and Coffey.
A great three car battle between Kevin Wills, Stewart Friesen, and Chad Brachmann aboard the Budweiser 20 lap Sportsman feature found Wills with the victory. Picking up his first win of the season, Wills took the lead away from Friesen who developed major handling problems just before the half way point.
Brachmann came home with second followed by Jeff McGinnis, Don Martin, and Dean Ferri. Ferri led the early stages but had to duck pitside with a flat tire around mid-way. Great rebound as he came back to finish fifth. Friesen continued to fall back with the ill handling machine. Heat winners were Martin, Friesen, and Ferri.
The most competitive division at the track didn't disappoint as side by side racing, three wide at times was found last Friday aboard the Budweiser Prostock feature. When all was said and done, defending champion Mark Schulz sat in victory lane after the 20 lap event.
Schulz took the lead away from his brother Dan Schulz on lap 6. A great side by side battle for second found Tom Walker with the position. Rounding out the top five were Pat McCoy, Steve Lewis, and Roger Chrysler. Heat winners were Doug Chappius, Lewis, and Dan Schulz. Jason Boyle captured the Consolation win.
Jeff Schulze of Ransomville, NY rebounded from a wild ride the week prior to capture last Friday's first Budweiser Street Stock feature event. Schulze took the lead away from fourteen year old rookie Digger Lester on lap two and never looked back. Following Schulze across the line were Derek Smith, Ken Washburn, Fred Srock, and Ben Hornquist.
The second Budweiser Street Stock feature event was won by Kirk Tuttle. Tuttle captured his first feature of the season followed by Don Barnes, Steve Buzzard, Don Rappleyea, and Shawn Graham. Heat winners were Kirt Tuttle, Justin Israel, and Don Barnes.
