BREWERTON, N.Y-8/14/98.-Tim Fuller came from eightieth spot and chalked up his first Brewerton Speedway modified win of 1998 last Friday night. Meanwhile, teenage sensation Frank Caprara Jr. remained in contention for the track title in capturing the IMCA modified!

main and Ed Granoski captured his first Brewerton main of the season in the four cylinders. In the dwarf division Troy Van Allen set a new record for the division with his 11th main event of the year.

It was Pick 'n Pull Night at the D-shaped Dirt Demon and the action was hot and heavy. Chuck Hebing launched his machine to the lead at the green for the 35 lap modified main event. Billy Gill took a long slide in the third turn and on the ensuing restart!

it was Danny Johnson taking command. With 120 laps in it was Johnson, the small block of Billy Abold, Tom Sears, Dale Plank and Roger Phelps leading the way. The fans witnessed a tremendous battle for third between the likes of Phelps, Sears, Plank, Bob M!

Action remained hot and heavy and at the halfway point "The Doctor" appeared in command. While Abold and Sears were right in the hunt only to have Fuller and McCreadie close behind. With 19 on the board Johnson pulled to the high side and was out of action!

. Tom Sears inherited the point and Abold was in second. Fuller was a tight third. On the twenty-first lap Fuller roared around the outside of Abold for the runner up spot.

The battle at the front was spectacular as Sears was running up high, Fuller ran low, and rapidly closing were the high flying Billy Decker and the steady running Abold as McCreadie simply sat back in fifth and looked for an opportunity. Fuller pulled off !

a spectacular slide job between three and four to take over at the point. Decker rallied at the end as did Pat Ward, who came from deep in the field. At the checker it was Tim Fuller with the win while Bill Decker was second followed by Pat Ward, Billy Abo!

on the fifth lap restart Van Allen roared to the outside. He worked his way toward the front from his 18th spot and passed Mark Weigelt on the seventh lap. Two laps later he powered around Battelle to take over. As the final laps wound down Tony Buffa Jr. r!

aced past Battelle for the runner up spot. At the checker the top three had plenty of distance between themselves and the rest of the field. Finishing behind Van Allen, Buffa and Battelle were Mark Weigelt and Kevin Doll.

Frank Caprara Jr. kept himself in contention for the IMCA track title as he ran the tacky track to perfection. Caprara came from eighth starting position to take the lead on the second lap. George Catanzano and Craig Simmons were in hot pursuit, but on th!

was Ed Granoski taking the lead. Lloyd Hinton closed in, but it was to no avail. He pursued, looked high and low, but couldn't get around Hinton. Chuck Powelczyk remained in contention. Jim Olin spun early, but came on with a late charge for third as he !

followed Granoski and Hinton. Powelczyk was fourth followed by Ken Klinkowsky.
