TIM FULLER GRACES VICTORY LANE ON KINNEY DRUGS NIGHT AT BREWERTON

BREWERTON, N.Y....Brewerton Speedway fans not only had the opportunity to receive the

autograph of their favorite drivers, but also witnessed outstanding wheel-to-wheel racing on

Friday night as Tim Fuller, Frankie Doll Jr., Bob Worden and Rick Wilk captu!

red feature events on Kinney Drugs-B104.7 Night.

Spectacular racing was the norm on this perfect night for racing at the D Shaped Dirt

Demon. In the featured modified division fans were in awe as Tim Fuller and Billy Decker

swapped the lead nearly twenty-five times during the last 18 laps of the 35 lap!

main event. Fuller was overjoyed with his first win of the year at Brewerton and said, "It

is great to win on Kinney Drug Night. They do so much for me. It was a dogfight throughout

and Billy hounded me at the end."

At the green it was Ray Bliss outrunning Roger Phelps for the lead. He maintained the

advantage, but Tim McCreadie, Phelps, Fuller, Jim Phelps, Decker, Jack Johnson, Bob McCreadie

and Billy Gill were all right there in the heat of battle. Bliss and Tim !

McCreadie were doing battle, but Fuller was closing fast. On the 17th lap Fuller dove low

and took the lead. Decker followed. Throughout the remainder of the event Fuller ran high and

Decker low. They passed, repassed and passed one another over and ove!

r again. Meanwhile, Jack Johnson was rapidly closing the gap and with two laps to go the

yellow flew for a spinning car.

The stage was set for a dramatic finish as Fuller, Decker, Johnson, Bob McCreadie and

Tim McCreadie were all in line. Fuller dove low on the green and with one lap left Decker

went to the outside on the backstretch. Decker dove, but Fuller shut the door!

. At the checker it was Fuller with a car length win over Decker. Jack Johnson came home

third followed by Bob McCreadie and Tim McCreadie.

In the IMCA modified division it was Bob Worden winning his first ever at Brewerton.

Worden has been close to victory lane, but has been snakebitten. However, he wasn't to be

denied. At the start it was Les Hubbard getting the early advantage. However, S!

ean Lias was moving quickly and took over on the second circuit. It was a three-car battle

with Lias, Worden and Neil Edgar breaking away. With five laps remaining Lias and runner up

Edgar made contact at the north end of the speedway with Lias looping!

. Track officials moved Edgar to the rear and Worden took over at the point. Worden wasn't

home free as Leb Val's George Catazano was right on his tail. At the checker it was Worden

with the win followed by Catazano and a late charging Tom Horning comp!

leting the top three.

Rick Wilk won his first ever at the track in the highly competitive four-cylinder

division. Bill Clark was the early pacesetter while Ed Granoski took over with a low move on

the third lap. However, on lap four it was Wilk taking over with a pass on the!

front stretch. Wilk had things pretty much his own way. At the checker Wilk outdistanced

Gary Morrisette and Ed Granoski.

The Dwarf division saw a three car race long tussle between eventual winner Frank Doll,

Troy Van Allen and rookie Greg Furlong. Chuck Weiland took to the outside to go three wide

into the first turn. However, on the sixth lap restart it was Doll taking !

over. Van Allen chased and Furlong tried to run low around the entire track. With two to go

Van Allen spun in the first turn and the stage was set for yet another shootout. Doll hung on

to outdistance Furlong and Weiland.

Friday night action resumes on the Route 11 track with a full card of racing action

accompanied by a motorcycle jump by Jose Canuc. Racing has been spectacular in recent weeks

and fans can look forward to many more exciting nights at the Brewerton Speedw!

ay.
