ROY TARBELL, DAVE BISONNETTE AND JODY SWAMP TAKE FEATURE WINS AT FROGTOWN SPEEDWAY

Roy "The Smokin' Gun" Tarbell #007 smoked the 24 car field to win his first modified feature event of the season. The feature started off with a bang as Brian McDonald #151 slammed into the front stretch wall. At the end of 2 laps and 2 cautions ,Peter Mantha #1 took control until Tarbell cruised by on lap 8. Roy quickly moved several car lengths ahead of the field leaving Mantha and Mark Hitchcock #77 to vie for second. Hitchcock got by Mantha on lap 11 and held on until the very last lap when Mantha powered by him on the restart of the ninth caution of the event. Dan Jalbert, a former Sportsman division driver, had an excellent run starting on the outside pole and finishing in fourth position. Dave Heaslip, who had started in seventeenth, rounds out the top 5.

Only half of the 14 Late Model drivers managed to finish the bumping and bashing feature. Polesitter John Green #22 got off to a bad start allowing Mike Allen #11 and Sid Harmer #690 to get by. A lap 3 tangle caught and damaged 5 cars. Only 3 were able to return. Green made it back to the front when the leader, Allen, was black flagged and sent to the pits. Dick Planty inherited the lead but then had to pit with mechanical problems. Green held on only one lap before Sid Harmer #690 took over. Dave Bisonnette #47 moved his way from the back at lap 3 to take the lead on lap 12 and collected his second feature win of the season. Harmer and Steve Francis #TA1 had to settle for second and third.

Jody Swamp #69 broke the 3 race winning streak of Joel Herne #96x. Swamp got the lead on the second lap and held off some very hard charges by Herne to capture his first feature of the season. Louie Jackson #18 moved up from 6th starting spot to finish third.

The first ever lawnmower race was held at intermission. Three lawnmowers and one farm tractor with a lawnmower attachment took to the track for three laps in the front stretch. The farm tractor was disqualified. Ray Chubb on a John Deere was the winner.

The Antique Stock Car Club will make an appearance next Saturday evening for the Noonies Diner/Oionkwaonwe Truck Stop/Sky's the Limit sponsored night. It's a regular show for all classes starting at 7:30 p.m.
