Night of Thunder at Latrobe Speedway was an understatement. We started the night with awesome heat racing. At intermission the sky was lite up from the technical hands of Marcus Wisneski owner of Wisneski Westmoreland Services. The Fireworks Display was a work of art, 30 minutes of one big BOOM after another. Once the racing action started back up the Fans of Latrobe Speedway witnessed Two first time winners. The 969 of Steven Hazlett in Pure Stocks and the 25m of Brett McDonald in the Pro Stocks. The big hammers were third in the line up with the 165 of Rex King Jr coming out on top. The 99p of Bob Pease gets back to his winning ways. In the Crate Late Model 28H of Clate Copeman gets back to his winning ways, winning 2 of the last three Races.

In the opening spot. The Pure Stocks tack the track. The 72 of Jason Morrison starting in P1 with the 3 of Justin Ruff to his outside. As Morrison brings the field down to Denny Carson’s green flag it’s the 3 of Justin Ruff scoring the first lap. On the next Lap the 3 of Justin Ruff experiences Engine troubles which opens the door for the 969 of Steven Hazlett, he took full advantage and never looked back for his First Ever Feature Win. The battle for second was a real barn burner with the 51 of Brad Benton and the 100 of Anthony Monteparte. But at the Checkers the 51 of Benton held off the 100 of Monteparte.

In the number 2 slot. Latrobe’s Own 4 Cyl. Division. Starting in P1 the 19H of Tayler Huffman to his outside the 62 of Jeremy Grubbs. It did not take long for the 99p to find the front spot, the 19h of Huffman battled early but the 99 of Pease had other plans.

The B Main - The 24 of Tiffani McElhose sat in P1 with the 3k of Jay Rittenour to her outside. The 24 of McElhose did not miss a beat as she lead every lap to the checkers Flag.

In the Prime Time Spot the Earth Pounding Big Block Modified. Sitting in P1 the 165 of Rex King jr to his outside the 22 of Kevin Long. The 165 of King Jr would lead the first dozen laps until 1 of 8 cautions would come out as the 29 of Garrett Krummert would take full advantage of the caution. The 29 of Krummert would lead for most of the remaining laps, until a late caution would come out. At the restart it would be the 165 of King Jr that would take back the lead and the Checkered Flag.

4th in the Rotation, Latrobe’s Own Crate Late Model. Sit in P1 the 17M of Billy Martin to his outside the 11 of Troy Shields. As they came down to the Start the 11 of Shields would take command of the first 12 laps of the 20 lap feature. The 28H of Clate Copeman started in P5 worked his way through the field with some help from cautions. The 28H would find the 11 car f Shields on lap 9, he would follow Shields for a few laps until he made his move going into lap 13. The 28H took the lead and the Checkers.

In the clean up spot of an action packed night of Dirt Track Racing and the Best Fireworks ever, the Pro stocks take to the unreal smooth big half mile dirt track. Sitting in P1 the 17 of Sam Eicherberger to his outside the 4 of Brett Hutira. As they come down to the green flag of Carson the 4 of Hutira is award the lead spot, he will hold that spot till lap 6 as the 25 of Brett McDonald get around him to take the 7th Lap on his way to his First Feature Win.

Then to cap all that off we watched some of the best dirt track drivers in the Tri State take battle on the Ultra Smooth Big Half Mild Dirt Track of Latrobe Speedway.

This week the return of the Hot Summer Night Series as well DOUBLE POINTS for the Track Championship Run. Points are tight in both the Track Championship as well the Hot Summer Nights Series.

The Track Champions will be crowned this weekend. Next weekend the Winners of the Hot Summer Nights Series will be decided. As we dwindle down the 2021 Racing Season come out and support your favorite Driver and Team.
